Four CRPF personnel, including two Sub-Inspectors (SIs), were today killed and another wounded when their colleague allegedly opened fire at them in the Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The fratricide was reported around 5 pm at a camp of the Central Reserve Police Force’s 168th Battalion under the Basaguda police station area of Bijapur, DIG (Dantewada Range) Sundarraj P said. ASI Gajanand suffered injuries. An MI17 helicopter was sent to airlift the injured and the bodies. Officials said Kumar was soon overpowered and apprehended. According to preliminary information, constable Sanath Kumar allegedly opened fire with his service weapon, an AK 47 rifle, leaving four personnel dead on the spot and another injured.
RAIPUR: Four CRPF personnel, including two sub-inspectors (SIs), were today killed and another wounded when their colleague allegedly opened fire at them in the Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, officials said.
The fratricide was reported around 5 PM at a camp of the Central Reserve Police Force's 168th battalion under Basaguda police station area of the Bijapur, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Dantewada range) Sundarraj P told in Raipur.
According to preliminary information, constable Sanath Kumar allegedly opened fire with his service weapon, an AK 47 rifle, leaving four personnel dead on the spot and another injured, he said.
Three of the four CRPF men killed in the fratricide were senior to Kumar. They have been identified as SIs Vikey Sharma, Megh Singh, Assistant SI Rajveer Singh and constable Sankara Rao, the IPS officer said.
ASI Gajanand suffered injuries in the incident, the DIG said.
The bodies and the injured ASI were evacuated from Basaguda to Bijapur at 6 PM. An MI17 helicopter was sent to airlift the injured and the bodies to Raipur, he added.
Officials said Kumar was soon overpowered and apprehended by other colleagues who were present in the camp. The jawans reportedly had a brawl before the fatal incident took place, they added.
The CRPF is deployed for anti-Naxal operations in the state.

【环球网综合报道】印度官员10日称，切蒂斯格尔邦(Chhattisgarh)一处军营内爆发枪击事件，一名35岁士兵枪杀4名战友。当地警方已将嫌犯逮捕，但仍在调查他的犯案动机。
台湾《东森新闻云》12月10日报道称，35岁的涉事士兵库马尔(Sanath Kumar)疑似与战友发生争执，之后持AK-47突击步枪将4名战友击毙，另外有一人受伤。
印度中央后备警察部队(Central Reserve Police Force，CRPF)一位人员说，“库马尔向4名战友开火，他们当场死亡，另一名助理副督察则在事件中受伤。”
报道称，库马尔被捕后正接受盘问，至于行凶动机仍需进一步调查。一名高级警官表示，“我们正在确认发生了什么事情，为什么他这样做，以及在什么情况下。”
据悉，恰蒂斯加尔邦是印度共产党(毛主义)游击队的温床，而嫌犯的部队驻守当地稳定情势。
另外由于印度当局在盛产矿石的恰蒂斯加尔邦进行开采，此举让毛派游击队非常反对，导致此地过去30几年来发生无数次武装冲突。
