I had been getting phone calls from people who knew my name and claiming that I'm part of the list of claimants who is now entitled to a part of the 6.4 millions due to some legal case brought against some timeshare company.
They claim that I do not need to pay for the legal fee and all I have to do is go to their office and provide them a statement so that they can process the claim. They will pretent that they had spoken to you years ago.
When asked, they will also know your full name but not your NRIC number.
I was not interested and therefore did not ask for more information.
Screw those credit card companies who had likely released my information. I recently got an ANZ credit card and suddenly getting these calls.
