8 UMNO Branch Leaders Suspended For Challenging Allah's Chosen Leader!!

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 11 ― Eight out of nine Umno Teluk Kemang branch leaders who criticised and called for the resignation of their party president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak have been suspended from the party for six years.

According to one of the leaders, Datuk Mohamad Zain Mustapha, the decision was made on December 2 and they were officially notified a day later.

“We were not given any explanation we were just told that we were suspended, and that we lost our rights to choose and to be chosen as Umno members for six years.

“This means we cannot voice out our concerns as Umno members for six years,” the former Taman Datuk Haji Abdul Samad branch chief told a news conference at the Putra World Trade Centre where Umno’s general assembly is taking place today.

“This shows that democracy has died in Umno when individual interests are put above party interests,” he said.

He added that the eight will meet later and discuss whether or not they wanted to appeal the decision by the party's disciplinary board.

It was reported in September that the branch chiefs organised a press conference to declare their loss of confidence in Najib's leadership and their wish for him to step down as president ahead of the next federal polls.
