1. Admit to everything as per your first part.

The case is usually decided when the accused first gives his statement to the IO shortly after his arrest. By then it is too late. Most people are too shocked having been arrested for the first time that they are lost. Any cover up is littered with holes.

When u are arrested, u can request for a call to your lawyer. If the police are going to charge you, than they will ask you to give a cautioned statement which you must signed and will be used in court. If they arrest you to lim kopi and talk cock, but not charge you, you don't have to sign any statement. U can refuse to sign any statement until you have seen your lawyer. AFAIK, many people don't exercise this option. If you keep your cool and start thinking up your story, and stick to it, plus u have a lawyer from a big law firm, maybe u get away with it.
