Starting 16 November 2015, eligible PRC will be allowed to clear Singapore immigration more quickly. ICA stated that this move would provides more travel convenience for PRC visitors and facilitate trade, business and tourism links between Singapore and China.
PRCs are eligible if you meet the requirement as stated below:
Aged 6 and above
Validity of 5 year or longer Multiple Journey Visa
Visited Singapore for at least 3 months in the past 12 months
This has raised a huge concern over the quick clearance for PRCs as PRCs have already left a bad image worldwide for their ill-manners and are infamous for breaking laws. By allowing such quick clearance, prostitutes who travel to and from from Singapore to China and vice versa will be able to take advantage of this implementation as they are eligible to apply for quicker clearance
Back on 23th August 2015 at National Day Rally speech, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said that he has been “doing what Singapore needs to best safeguard Singaporeans’ interests”, and intend to continue increasing the number of foreigners claiming that it would be a great benefit for the Singapore Economy.
