Compare that with Singapore or Australia where you will pay very very high taxes, 10% GST etc.

Also if you are really poor, your child go to the State Universities for free.. The rich will sort of pay for all these through taxes and other forms of contributions such as grants and funds.

Most states have GST (sales tax). Food is seldom taxed though.
BUT you can always buy your stuff such as electronics or clothing online though. If you live in California, you can choose to buy from Amazon without paying for taxes.

At least you have a choice in US.

Sinkie leaders always attribute the country's lack of resources for their stinginess. How about that $200 billion in foreign reserves? Time to create a positive cycle of economics for those who need help and can contribute back to the country once they get out of their difficult situations.
