20K not possible bro. Allowances are attractive but not that attractive. You don't hit 20k even with overseas posting even for a Captain.

My fighter pilot nephew based in USA is already almost hitting $18K all in :p ..... he just needs to attend a couple more courses to reach $20K

My apologies. Yes, pilots being the exception. I don't see a Commando, Ranger etc Capt coming close to 10k.
