4 passers-by help woman in snatch theft

SINGAPORE - Four spirited members of the public helped a 29-year-old woman whose gold chain was snatched away by a thief.

On Dec 6, 2012 at about 8.35pm, the woman was walking along Circuit Road when an unknown man came from behind and snatched the gold chain she was wearing around her neck.

She shouted for help and two passers-by chased after the man. He was caught with the help of another two passers-by. He was then handed over to the police who arrived shortly after.

The 34-year-old man could face a maximum punishment of seven years imprisonment and caning.
