39yo M’sian Says He Spent RM500K On Woman He Met At KTV Over The Years, Unsure Whether To Leave Relationship
A 39-year-old Malaysian man recently shared how he allegedly spent more than RM500,000 on a woman he met at a KTV venue, leaving him emotionally drained and unsure whether he should walk away from the relationship.
Said he met her in 2021 after pandemic
According to the post, the man said he works in Singapore and has a stable income. He described himself as someone who had always lived frugally and rarely caused trouble for others.
However, things changed in 2021 when he met a Vietnamese woman at an entertainment outlet after the pandemic.
He claimed the woman told him she had been “sold” there, which made him sympathise with her. The man then allegedly spent around RM30,000 to “redeem” her from the place.
After that, he said he began financially supporting her by giving her money regularly, estimating that he spent close to RM100,000 on her during that period.
The two later lost contact for over a year.
Relationship resumed in 2024
In 2024, the woman contacted him again after returning to Malaysia for work.
The man said the two rekindled their relationship and he resumed financially supporting her. He also claimed she was willing to become his girlfriend, leading him to cut ties with another Vietnamese woman he had previously been involved with.
According to him, the woman later told him she had accumulated high-interest debts. Wanting to help her, he allegedly paid off debts owed in both Malaysia and Vietnam.
Combined with the money he had already spent previously, the total amount allegedly exceeded RM500,000.
Claims relationship affected his emotions
The man also shared that the woman continued working in the KTV industry during their relationship, which allegedly led to arguments between them after he came across negative comments about her online.
He further claimed that she frequently asked him for money for various expenses, including family medical bills and festive expenses.
Although the woman reportedly expressed interest in marrying him and even invited him to Vietnam to meet her family, things took another turn when she later said her parents needed RM200,000 to build a house.
She also allegedly hoped he could continue supporting her family financially in the future.
The request reportedly became the “final wake-up call” for the man.
Torn between leaving or staying
In the confession, the man admitted he no longer felt like himself and had become increasingly emotionally exhausted throughout the relationship.
He also claimed the woman would sometimes blame him for not being mature enough or good at planning.
Now, he said he feels trapped between two difficult choices:
Leaving the relationship and accepting that the RM500,000 spent is gone for good
Continuing the relationship and potentially spending another RM200,000 or more
Many netizens expressed shock over the amount of money the man claimed to have spent throughout the relationship. Some also felt there were already warning signs that he may have been scammed.
