Police arrest 3 men involved in assault case at Tampines

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested three suspects, believed to be involved in the recent assault of two victims at Tampines Street 81.

Police said investigations revealed that the victims were attacked by a few men over a dispute.

They arrested the first suspect at a block in the vicinity of Tampines Street 83 on Saturday and later on the same day, the second suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Kampong Bahru.

The third suspect was arrested at a club located at Marina Bay early Sunday morning.

Police said they are actively pursuing the remaining accomplices who are on the run.

Police also added that investigations revealed that this is an isolated incident resulting from a misunderstanding between the two groups. The victims and the assailants do not know each other.

The victims who sustained multiple slash wounds, are currently in stable condition.

Two unemployed men were charged in court on Monday with slashing two victims in Tampines last Friday.

Muhammad Hafiz Jamal and Firdaus Muhammad Abdul Aziz, both 22, are alleged to have used a combat knife to slash packer Aidil Syahril Ramadhan Idris, 26, and cleaner Ahmer Noor Rashid Shahul Hameed, 23.

They allegedly committed the offence with two others near Tampines West Community Centre at 6.24am.

Police investigation showed that the isolated incident resulted from a misunderstanding between two groups of men.

19 hours to stitch back nose of victim in monster knife attack

The 22-year-old man who had his nose slashed off in an attack on Friday morning last week had it reattached after a 19 hour-long operation.

Another man, 24, suffered multiple slash wounds after the fight broke out at Tampines West Community Club in Tampines Street 81.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the case. Two of them will be charged on Monday for causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon, the police said.

The suspects, aged between 23 and 29, were nabbed within 48 hours after the attack and slashing took place. More than 50 officers were involved in their capture.
