2 more new MRT line Cross Island Line (CRL) and Jurong Region Line (JRL)

Why not extend the line all the way to Kukup so we can drop off for cheap and good seafood ?

The talk to let the mrt cross to JB had been going on for years it until now, still cannot smell anything. Want the mrt to go until kukup, maybe next lifetime lah :D

there will be a total of 10 lines serving a population of 10 million in more than 10 years or when the emperor lives to 110. :D

You're expecting too much, when the two countries cannot co-operate even on the slightest things.

If they continue to dig, the country may one day just sink under the sea.

We're still digging in the dirt until further notice. Akan datang. :o

Meanwhile, the current system is crippling along. They still don't have a solution for the frequent breakdowns of the system.

The reclaimed land will give way first.

Yup, liquefactation. It is a fallacy to believe that reclaimed land is solid packed. It is the air and other impurities that jell it together. Shake it enough, it will give. Japan saw this in 2011 in Chiba.

Very soon this island look like cheese full of holes from digging

If the army camps and airbases are scaled down drastically, there is sufficient room for 10mil. Possible in three to five decades if drones completely replaced manned Fighters. Only issues will be social integration, NS liability and jobs.

with the mandai/sarimbun area reclaimed except 2 or 3 reservoirs, can squeeze in more than 500,000 pigeons. :o

I applaud the govt for extending the MRT lines. However, can PAP stop increasing the population for god's sake?

Possible. Vote WP (or in their absence, other opposition parties) during elections and tell others to do so.

Extending MRT lines without increasing the population is like getting a big plate but asking for just a little rice.

It's not going to happen. And I doubt SMRT wants to incur losses in its investment.

The writing's already on the wall with new 40-storey flats, and more secondary forests cleared for roads, schools and residential buildings.

Who knows, maybe one day this country will sink under the weight of its own greed.

I think they are projecting 8 million in 2030. The country will be sinking under the weight of its own shit.

OnLy by AD2030 ?..sounds more poLitcaL than reaL to me.Knn..:(

We will reach 6 million population, or at least get very close to it, by the time the next GE arrives.

It's quite easy to extrapolate the figure from the current one. Look at the developments around you and the infrastructure. One very telling sign are hospitals, not just the new ones but also the expanding of the current ones. You honestly think they're building more hospitals to cater to the same number of people? Or they're trying to make Singapore a medical hub for more cojoined twins, bedridden dictators, tsunami victims and rape victims?
