2 more new MRT line Cross Island Line (CRL) and Jurong Region Line (JRL)

Good to invest in more infrastructure to cater for future needs.

Laksaboy, good that you showed restraint for the past 24 hours, you know what will happen if you become mischievous again.

You see, it isn't too difficult.

So much more digging underground. Can our buildings and infrastructure support all this extra lines as we are such a small island and have large areas that were reclaimed from sea. Or will nature have its own response to all this digging

Has that ever been a concern for the PAP:confused:

Sporeans will be paying $$$$$ to find out just how much punishment this island can take.

nothing in the north? by 2030 if wp is the government can it scrap the project?

Today 6 in 10 households have a MRT station within a10 mins walk. By 2030, 8 in 10 households will be within a 10 mins walk. To enable this, the length of the network needs to be double. If we do some simple calculation, does it mean that our population will have grown by another 50% by 2030?

What will happen to me? Get dinged again by one of those newly registered clones again, I think. ;)

Newly registered, low post count, non-donor and 1k+ rep.

PAP going all out to maximize the land and squeeze the people. Regular ponding is already a sign we are reaching its limit. Building a major Marina Coastal Expressway inside reclaimed land may be technically possible but with all the "lowest price tenders win" type of culture, I'm not sure if the contractors will cut corners and the day will come when nature takes over and we will all suffer. Hopefully with minimal lost of innocent lives.

With all the additional digging expected for the additional MRT lines. Good luck to us and God Bless Singapore.

I saw this piece of news under the election news and was surprised. Are the new MRT lines an election sweetener?

I am sure there is a mistake in the target year... can't be 2030... your good govt is known for long term planning... i am sure it is 2300

Why build more MRT lines when you allow unrestricted immigration?

Swiss stanard of living?

All lies by the PAP.......

It allows unrestricted immigration, that's why more MRT lines are going to be built.

Nothing is done without a reason. ;)

Good News from PAP!!

Like that how not to win?

You tell me? LOL! :D

Straits Times

Channel News Asia - ‎1 hour ago‎

SINGAPORE: Many commuters welcomed news of two new lines and extension of three MRT lines. On Thursday morning, Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew announced two new MRT lines will be built, while three existing lines will be extended.

A good government is good at all times - not only good at election.

I was going to post the same, bro..Let's hope these Lines are eLevated..

Meanwhile, the current system is crippling along. They still don't have a solution for the frequent breakdowns of the system.

Yes, you are right. This is getting stranger. Why didn't we experiencing this ten years ago?

It's for the papa regime again.

More lines = more fts to foot the bills = more congestion since demand is lopsided = more complaints because breakdowns = more unhappiness.

I can't help having the same feeling. Punggol was mentioned FIVE times.

How come not all the stations are mentioned???

Same thoughts as yours. It is a subtle way of telling the Punggol East residents to vote for PAP.

Why not extend the line all the way to Kukup so we can drop off for cheap and good seafood ?
