Before the collapse of Aljunied GRC, GCT told us they (Cabinet) cannot afford to lose Geroge Yeo. Well, we did lose him. Any impact on S'pore's position in the world? No. Why no one now say we can't afford to lose Tuck Yew? It goes to show that like underwears, they can be discarded and changed anytime without any consequences.

Maybe Lui learnt finally that being a Rear Admirer is so much easier to stay quietly till retirement day. Though not the millions he is paid as minister, at least he was paid handsomely as a senior-level Navy guy, he can just bark his orders and it will be done. No need to crack head and face so much restrictions in doing something way beyond his means and/or capabilities.
A very good and timely example for all paper General's who think they can just parachute from Army/Air Force into civilian/corporate roles without real-life experience.
