$155 portable Aircon can cool air to 20°C, anyone tried?

You don't have to keep the Aircon turned on all the time, if you don't use the exhaust pipe. When the room air turned cold, turn off the Aircon and sleep, then the warm air will not increase. I assume people will not be so dumb to keep the Aircon turn on even when the room has reach 20 degrees. If they are then they are true SINKIES.

Can also keep the window open for the warm air to escape.
I don't have engineering degree here. The cool air will not stay cool throughout the night. What you did is just defeating the purpose of having an aircon.

Your body heat, external air temp, warm walls (heated by the sun during the day), household appliances such as a desktop PC and humidity will just eventually raise back the room temperature. You're better off using a ceiling fan which is cheaper since your course of actions indicate to me that you're trying to save money. The reason why people use aircon are. Besides cooling the room ambient temperature, it de-humifies the room as well. De-humifying the room allows the human body's sweat to better evaporate to the surrounding air. Hence, allowing the human body to transfer heat via sweating more efficiently and making it more comfortable to sleep.

Secondly, unless you have a very small room (like a storeroom). This portable aircon will hardly work as intended. The exhaust duct itself itself is heating the ambient air via convection as well. Again, your better off using a ceiling fan.

in sg i prefer to sleep under a ceiling fan with door and windows open instead of ac. skin is less dry and no ac humming noise plus waking up is not as cold due to prolonged sexposure to ac. ceiling fan also helps to “fan” mosquitoes and bugs away. it cools the room air to 26.9 c which is my preferred ambient temp. ac running at 26.9 c in sg’s climate can easily get damaged. in fact some ac manuals advise against temp being set at 26 c and above.

Never buy the cheap shaver from bianlang010.sg that promises much, but stopped working after 2 weeks, and the seller from Shopee refused to refund my money. This seller is a scammer. Avoid them at all costs!

You can do a rough simple scientific calculation.

This product is only rated at 2000BTU at 280W. For a typical HDB/condo MBR of about 15 sqm average, you will need at least 8000 BTU to effectively cool it down to say 25 Deg C before the compressor shuts off or lower its power (for inverter).

This means that although it consumes only 280W of power, it's compressor needs to be turned on 4x longer to achieve same effect than normal properly sized aircon.

Even for a normal single window-unit 8000 BTU air conditioner needs at least 715 watts for proper cooling.

So this ranjiao product needs at least 280W x 4 = 1120W time period to cool down a room properly.

End up : Not only becomes LPPL but worse off with even higher power consumption and extremely slow cooling due to its poor cooling efficiency.
It becomes like what happened to those ranjiao chilled-water aircon at Tengah HDB where owners keep complaining that 30 mins later their room still don't feel cold enough LOL.

If such products are so good, then all aircon companies can close shop already. Don't believe you go buy and try then come back and tell us how it goes LOL.

As the saying goes, 'One good no two good. If both good, price no good' LOL.

My favorite temperature range 12 to 20 Centigrade.

Sounds like a very familiar place weather LOL:

it depends on volume and pressure too. if room is small eventually all the hot air will occupy the room and pressurize it to make it hotter and unbearable. that was exactly what happened to one of my (ceca) tenants in sunnyvale.he called me and complained that ac wasn’t working as the room heated up.
CECA? He wanted a new branded, heavy duty aircon. It is in their DNA to want more, otherwise your portable a/c will not last a month or two. Good Luck!

This is why it is recommended to use a small sleeping tent as shown in the product demonstration

aiyah too much trouble lah. best is to use proper ac and turn it on to 25-26 c when you need to nap for a few hours. constantly turning it on and off manually within a sleep cycle is sextremely inefficient and ineffective. moreover when you nap you won’t be able to micromanage the ac manually. let the ac’s thermostat do the work. at 25-26 c with all doors and windows closed the ac shuts off and turns on automatically based on maintaining the desired room ambient temp via the thermostat.

Actually use shower curtain to form sleeping tent can already. Between two walls tie a long rope, put 2 shower curtains side by side then put the Aircon at the bottom using a stool as a stand. The exhaust pipe face towards window.

Shower curtain only $2 each.

That's why you go all the way there
in sf living in a tent can be cold. must wear layers of down jackets to keep warm at night. in sillycon valley down south can sleep comfortably at night in a tent with a blanket. no need ac.

So you start a thread to ask 'who tried it' to ask whether have people use it for camping or for their own room?

Moreover the product description also also says ' for Home Office Bedroom without Installation Fast Cooling' and one of the farking pictures also the unit being placed inside a house table top , how misleading LOL.

It uses 220V rated at 280W. So who the fark buys this and use in a small sleeping tent in SG and then still need to buy another portable generator to power it?

With your ranjiao trying to act satki replies, what the fark are you trying to achieve here ?

Still wanna 胡搅蛮缠, 冥顽不灵, 愚蠢至极, really xia suay yourself only LOL.
