No need to stop yr veh entirely, green is just for guide, and for pedestrians to cross. If they havent crossed yet, just move on lah. That way, got more space for more pedestrains mah. Also, wherever there are no people, you can manouvre yr veh around them what.

They oso do that in BKK, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
