What I heard was that he wrote a critical letter to forum about Wong Kan Seng. He used his son's name as the letter writer thinking that it won't be traced back to him. But of course, it was. He was given a warning and chose to leave instead. A civil servant, now director, shared this. I dunno how true it is.

Thanks bro, you solved a long standing mystery. When he was shipped to Civil Service College I was wondering what gives and he was pitching the line that he was more into academia and it sounded like it was requested by him. It looks like his first book was the penalty that he had to take. By the way, it is straight dismissal under the conduct rules.
Also explains his current bizarre multiple apology. Also explains why no consultancy job despite his previous role. The former Perm Sec of MTI who was sacked for misleading LHL over the Official Secrets Case became radioactive here and had to work in HK and after serving his time was given a lowly job with a GLC in Singapore.

Maybe LKYSPP is becoming the school that is befitting of the old man's legacy. Keep your enemies close. It was said that an academic, playright and govt critic employed there was caught asking his interns to pose as parents and gather research data from schools. Seen from the school pov was a straight case of ethics. TTH was first suspended late last year for investigations and would likely result in a dismissal. But resumed work early this year with no penalties of sort. He is still employed there now. Keep your enemies closer. Better still make them dependent. So if they ever cross you, there's one more reason to squeeze their balls. Like what they did to Donald Low.
