Evolution vs Creation - Church To Apologise

There will always be 2 schools of thought when it comes down to these issues. The question is, which school does the population wants to stand at?

I feel there's no point in denying or agreeing with facts and figures. In the end, if one chooses not to believe (or believe), we shouldn't be enforcing it down to them.

... And certainly there's a separation between opinions and facts ...

my dear bro,

it is exactly here that draws the line of contention. what are opinions and what are facts?

if opinions are personal deductions, be it logical or not, based on pre-existing concepts held by an individual; then these deductions would have been rather dependent on the past experiences and imagery conjure up by the individual.

we could see that opinions would be rather subjective, for even the same color would not even appear the same to two persons. in short, our opinions would be rather limited by our rudimentary senses.

if facts are like scientific theories, e.g. the force of gravity, then it would be limited by the current laws of physics and the space-time structure we now are familiar with. is it really objective then?

as we know it, theories would only hold water if the physical conditions are met, else we wouldn't be able to put so many satellites up in the sky with any of them come crashing down.

so we see now see both opinions and facts being limited by our judgment and its physical conditions, so which is right?

both could be right or both could be wrong, it could be mutually inclusive and at the same time mutually exclusive. and to sum it up, i'd believe most of us already known it, it boils down to choice.

Therefore acceptance of either has to be an article of faith.

oh my dear bro...

the dead Henry wouldn't be pleased... ;p by the way, what would faith be based on? tradition? coercion? reasoning?

our civilization have come a pretty long way, and we could see every sensible groups of people attempting to trace their existence back to something supernatural and/or godly.

now, are they attempting to raise their mortal status to that of a supernatural and/or godly and perhaps something immortal. to justify their own existence? or is it to shirk away the fear of death?

now, i certainly have absolute faith that we all die one day, what happens there after, i wouldn't know and i guess i don't need to know it now, for i haven't been dead before

When God created Man, He gave each a brain to discover the world and its beauty. However He did let out a reminder:

You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not acquit anyone who misuses his name

The men of god had often misused God's name for their own convenience and to avoid the erosion of the their influence. And this has continued even until now.

then the Heaven would be filled with beasts and animals of all sort, i reckoned... for these animals also have brains to discover this very same world and its beauty and at the very same time haven't been able to speak the name of God, or is it not? :p

there's only one thing for sure, we'll all be dead anyway

Well put. Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion based on their religious faith, but you cannot disprove of the unknown.

exactly!

we can't disprove of the unknown. just as anyone could not disprove the existence of God, anyone also could not disprove the existence of the Invisible Pink Unicorn or the Flying Spaghetti Monster or the Celestial Teapot.

the Mayans had their Gods, the ancient Egyptians had their Ra, the Greeks had their Zeus, the Hindus have their Brahma, the Muslims have their Allah, the Christians have their God. some Buddhists have tried to deify the teacher but without much success.

the notion of atheists disproving the existence of God simply adds as much weight onto proving the existence of God. likewise to any attempts to disprove that Jesus is God would simply add to its counter argument. the point here is, are we able to disprove all of these God/s?

do we even have the need to?

The creationist theory is correct. Charles was wrong. Why apologise?
Now the Church is anti-creationist and anti-god. No wonder the world is collapsing into one disastrous black hole.

GOD is all around you.Repent.Seek forgiveness.Ask for help. All die into the blackhole.Amen.

If you can live a good and comfortable life, why bother so much about God or No God ?
Even I tell you GOD is alive and all around you, you are still blind. So better tell you there is No God and you live like a mad person running around mindlessly and jumping from one bed to another. From one black hole to another.

God or No God, you are responsible for this life. You dig your own grave. You dig your own destiny. You eat your own fruits - sweet and bitter. And you bury yourself in your own blackhole you've dug for yourself. No GOD can save you if you continue to live a life of debaunchery and licientiousness. The only way to see GOD and to believe in GOD is to live a pious and noble life. The more wayward you are the less GOD you see.

It does not really matter whether you are a Christian, a Hindu, a Muslim, a Buddhist or all others, it's the same. LIfe is what you've created. GOD is what you've created.Everything around you is created by yourself. So blame nobody but yourself. Amen!

The world will be a peace if everyone knows how to keep his views to himself....but in religion that's far from the reality. Many creationists are conditioned from young to think this way, and no hard evidence can change their poor logic. Fundamentalist religion has crept deeper into sg than we think. Think about why we never abolish anti-gay or anti-BJ laws. Look at the massive mega-churches. Look how missionaries are allowed to knock on our doors and condemn our own religions.

The Church of England will make an official apology to naturalist Charles Darwin for criticising his famous theory of evolution.

Coming 126 years after his death, the church's apology will focus on how wrong it was for senior bishops in the past to misunderstand and attack Darwin's theory about man being descended from apes.

What's there to apologize?
Can anyone prove anything?

There's nothing wrong in having views.
But many people see the need not only to state their own views, but also go on to condemn the views and beliefs of others. Some in fact don't have any views or beliefs but spend their whole lives condemning others.

bro,

as much as we want to be in a secular world, the evangelist will be here to stay, just as how the atheists on the other end of the spectrum would create an opposing force to the theistic views.

such is the dynamics, and until Homo sapiens can see themselves as a whole entity and not a fragmented one, that is, such dynamics will be here to stay

The irony of life is death................

bro,

death is not an irony, but a process of life itself.

if cells didn't die in early stages of development, we would all have webbed fingers and toes and we end up looking like frog toes altogether...

if cells didn't die in certain stages of development, we would all look like freaks as they would grow to become tumor-like growths at all parts of our bodies...

cellular death or death at the organism level, death itself is very much a process in life most folks failed to comprehend.

I guess the irony is that so many people spend their lives trying to prevent death or prolong life. But don't realize that it's beyond their control.
