Bro/Mdm, It is quite obvious u never enroll for NS duty before. A real army force/teaches u to be resourceful and pro-active. So that they can implement what they "learnt" in a harsh environement and survive. It is becos of accumulation of such complaints over the years, the army backdown and implement several "friendly" policies such as aircon bunk etc to preserve their image.
Now look what kind of army we hav?? All those sissies who complain abt every small little things, cant exercise their brains to solve little issue, waiting to be spoonfeed etc.
So pls stop this kind of complaints pls. It will only deteriorate our army further and make our "neighbours" happy. And pls let ur son a chance to be a man, let him handle his own issue. I totally disagree with what you said. what i have seen abt NS is that it has cut off the balls of SG guys. SG guys are gutless and balless because of NS.

Sorry to disappoint you, but i am a neutral party offering my 2cents worth of view. It is not the NS that make SG guys balless, it is the culture and environment of Sillypore cultivated for so long under u know who. If u compare the ARMY and the whole of Sillypore, dont u see the similarity ?? Looks good only on paper, a big wayang show.
NS by itself is good. It trains u to be a REAL MAN, to think not only for urself but also ur comrades. But alas...our NS scheme has degraded so much due to the culture of sillypore.
The countries u named indeed hav lots of capable guys...it is becos their environment and culture are different. They hav learnt to be independent since quite young. For us, 1 of the rare chance the kids learn to be independent is in NS. Think abt it.
So pls let ur kid a chance to learn, let him think of a solution himself.
Actually your post also reflects poorly on your own son. When I attended NS, I don't even tell my parents 99% of things that happen. You just get on with it and take the shortcuts that are necessary.
Its a bloody uniform and the event is only one day. If he has made friends, he might be able to get hold of one. I am sure when he starts working, he is not going to take you along.
