I think the Asia Pacific region should take a deep breath and not react to Trump's provocations.

Some earlier poster pointed out, this show of force is purely for Trump's political base. It's the mid terms and Trump and the Republicans aren't looking too good.

What to do? (Threaten to) Start a war to distract the public (wag the dog.) Trump's only strength so far has been in foreign policy admittedly and he's playing up to that. Casting himself as a strong war time president.

We should sit back and enjoy the new tech toys the Pacific fleet is going to dazzle us with.

One of the characteristics of East and South East Asians, unlike loudmouthed whities and South Asians with their bullshit and bluster, is that they tend to be reticent. So whities equate the Chinese's general reticence with weakness. So it's fantastic that the Chinese are gradually shedding their reticence with each whitey provocation.

If whities go ahead with this "show of force" bluster, the Chinese will not sit idly by. My hope is that the Chinese conduct a saturated trial attack exercise by releasing 25 DF 21s or 26s on just one target in the shape of the most "powerful" US aircraft carrier in the SCS. And while the Chinese can destroy Guam (from which whities bombers take off from) with missiles, it would be good optics for the world for the Chinese to fly their bombers around Guam.That would send whities a message not to fuck with them.

Hopefully an accident happens in November, war breaks out and whities' homeland, which has not suffered destruction from wars except for one miniscule 911 attack, will be destroyed.
