Donald Trump announced on Wednesday (March 25) that he will travel to Beijing in May to meet Xi Jinping, following the postponement of an earlier planned summit due to the ongoing conflict involving Iran. The visit, now scheduled for May 14–15, had initially been planned for late March. Trump described the upcoming meeting as a major and historic occasion, adding that he also intends to host Xi and his wife in Washington, DC later this year.

A Russian delegation visited Washington, D.C., on Thursday and Friday (March 26–27, 2026), suspected to arrange a meeting between the two leaders ahead of his visit to meet Xi in China.

Nothing concrete will Occur in this visit. Unless beijing decides to buy boeing jets.

Before Trump confirmed his visit to China, he initiated new Section 301 investigations targeting excessive production that impacts the U.S. and the import of products made with forced labor. In response, China launched two separate investigations into U.S. trade practices.

Excellent timing. Xi desperately needs this for his propaganda photo op.

Trump has also rejected extending his stay in China or going to places outside Beijing.

The real show begins in the USA a couple of days later. Enjoy the show.
