To prepare for possible floods this year I wish to get a 4x4 diesel. Reason is cars are basically sitting ducks in flood situation. The purposes of the 4x4 are
(1) transport people from home to safer places,
(2) be mobile and still able to live in home no need to evacuate,
(3) have some space to transport large suitcases not big household items.
Always love the Toyota's Hilux Vigo (6 yr old model) and Isuzu's DMAX (2mths old model). Problem with Toyota is the plan to launch a new model in May is being delayed due to parts suppliers still coping with aftermath of the recent flood and not up to capacity to support new parts for new models. I am practically left with the Isuzu which I liked very much.
However recently I also kind of attracted to the Mitcubishi Pajero Sport (basically a converted pickup truck from Triton into a SUV just like Toyota's Fortuna and Isuzu's MU7. I have studied the practicality of these two and both meet my criteria. But what do you guys think? Here are some pics of the two:
