There are 2 holidays this week in Malaysia

I was in JB yesterday & it was very, very crowded. They are having 2 holidays this week: the birthday of the prophet and Thaipusam.

Sporeams only get 2 days for Chinese New Year. In Malaysia they get 2 days for CNY & this week another 2 days. How do they get things done

So if you are heading north take note.

Is it true that the PM can just declare a PH as he deem fit! For example of msia were to win the Asian Cup or World Cup today, then Najib can declare tmr as a PH to celebrate?

At least they are giving extra holidays & not taking away holidays like what happened in Spore.
Over here many have to wait for a certain celebrity to up the lorry t get a holiday

Just hope they aren't disappointed if no public holidays are announced

on 1st feb, kl got a holiday ... each state wif sultan got sultan's birthday hol ... if sultan kick bucket, dat state usu haf a few days hol ... den, oso got ah gong's birthday hol ... den, got other muslim hol like awal muharam ... oso got qurn reading competition hol ...got sum mor others ...

Dogland celebrates for 15 days on lunar new year, labour day & their communist doggy day! Vietnamese will have a pre-holiday day off to rest for the celebration & a post-holiday day off for resting on every public holiday! So mudland not so good after all lah!

Malaysia have 15 or 16 days holiday depending on state. If public holiday on Saturday most company will no compensate the leave even if Saturday is off day/no working day. Only is the public holiday is fall on Sunday.
Not all state have Thaipusam and Prophet holiday. The state will have either one.
In Singapore have 11 public holiday. The company will compensate leave if fall on Saturday if the company is not working on Saturday.

Malaysia is a moslem state so the Prophet's birthday is celebrated nationwide i.e. in all the states.

The name of the holiday is not as important as the holiday itself & Malaysia is not as stingy as Spore which only provides only 11 public holidays. Considerig that Sporeans work long hours that's not many. HK has about 17 & that doesn't include the holidays from the threat of typhoons Japan 15 days. Australia , Aust(16). Most countries have at least 15.

So the PAP has short changed Sporeans:( It' no wonder many are waiting the extra holidays days when the old leave ups the lorry special
