What would be the fortune of the political parties in 2016? The PAP will have a very tough time comes 2016. There is really nothing left to stand in favour of the party. After the ministerial salary debate in Parliament, all the political credits have vanished into thin air. The super talent and super salary myths have been shattered to pieces. Not many thinking people will find the super talents anything that super or unusual. The few good ministers could have held their grounds if not of flawed policies or the wrong direction that the country is being led to. And to keep to party line and direction, they could only go along but undermining their own credibility as super talents.

Based on demographics, the PAP is not in serious danger in 2016. At best we will have yet another 5% swing. The only thing under serious threat is the 2/3 majority. Hopefully our Opposition will learn from Malaysia and go after the 2/3 majority seriously.

It is 2021 that we are talking abt the actual turning pt happening.

In many ways, we are walking the road of Malaysia. We are about 10 yrs behind !!!

4 more years to go... Every time before an election, we will always have this high hopes of seeing PAP losing many seats and even great, seeing them being kicked out of power... But comes Election time, all of our hopes will be dashed and destroyed by guillible naive daft bloody selfish Sinkies... All the recent cocked ups by the Scums In White would have been forgoten by many by the time 2016 arrives.. Infightings among the Opposition parties.. Some Opposition parties can't even get their respective houses in order... Like that how to fight against a juggernaut like the PAP..??? Still a long way to go.. Hope to see more credible people coming forward to serve the Opposition cause in 2016..

The answer is of course!
A few simple things that they can do

1) enable PRs, foreigners living here to vote
2) approve more new citizens
3) redraw boundaries until whole sinkieland becomes one big GRC
4) abolish elections
5) impose more rules for candidates (similar to EP criteria)

actually, must rephrase the title to " how many singaporeans can survive until 2016?"

They don't have to do any of the above if the intent is just to stay in power. They could for example just declare martial law.

as long as PAP get 40% of votes, they'll still be in power.......................

so right now at 60%, they totally not scared.......................

the Lee Clan will migrate before PAP kana kicked out.....................so no worries for them

It depends whether PAP can uplift Singaporeans income and standard of livings within this crucial 5 years. It has been overdue for decades since GCT's era.
The reason why there was watershed election because many PMETs were shortchanged by PAP policies, income were stagnanted and professional underemployed, the influx of foreigners added further insult to such injury. That is the core of Singaporeans unhappiness. If our unemployment rate is 1% or near 0. Populations are less packed and our income and space have improved, kicking PAP might prove an uphill task. If PAP maintain status quo as in the last 5 years, the next election will certainly mark the end of PAP era....
