<!--start of story text-->As the deputy director of projects and development at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in February 2009, Peh Chew Seng allegedly asked a contractor for a bribe. No money changed hands, but the 48-year-old was charged on Tuesday.
Court documents state that Peh had asked for an unspecified amount from Mr Phua Boon Kin, the executive director of PBT Engineering. The request is said to be through Mr Sim Keok Soon, one of the firm's employees.
In return, Peh is alleged to have offered to help PBT win the contract for the construction of a temporary office for the hospital next to TTSH's main building.
Police bail of $5,000 was increased to a court bail of $10,000 after Peh's lawyer informed the court that his client would be going to Taiwan for holidays next week. He is now working as a manager with SMRT.

If CPIB were to be on their toes, more cases will surface !!!
These people have been asking for kickbacks way back to 2003 when economy was in doldrum after SARS. These people are getting bolder.
Some ask me for kickbacks but cunt promise the award of tender, so they are just spreading the net and try their luck. I am not talking about managers or senior managers. They call themselves VP and directors !!!

There are more corruption cases and most are not reported.

I have came across some cases, involving a police sergeant, detective protection and raid other nightclubs (Competitor) for this nightclub's owner and get cash award or loan without any interest and repayment.

When the nightclub owner have any discussion or gang activities, he would asked this detective to go along and arrest them.

This nightclub owner have retired and the detective have also left the force.

NOW the detective is working with the night-owner's son in General Insurance business and also form a company to collect bad debt.
So this is corruption...???

No money was involved, how to get charged for corruption? In this case all the quanxi, quanxi at the RC's same also? Maybe, "Abolones" was tasted, that was why Pak Chew Cheng was charged for corruption.:D

So this is corruption...???

Singapore is ranked the least corrupted on the world

Either that or the least corrupt cases reported?

If CPIB is serious, I can bet you there will be many more cases involving the public sector alone, during those good old days with no Internet, everything is under the carpet.

Everyone should remember the Nassim Jade scandal.

Singapore is not corrupted? That's like a well-seasoned whore who insists she is saving herself for marriage.

Not corrupt because they are already highest paid in the world....no way they can be corrupt.
Be thankful they are nothing like Suharto, Marcos etc...

I thought LKY was already married :D

I still remember that speech LKY gave about everyone giving him favours e.g. an extra egg. Is it any wonder that others have tried to get "extras" ;)
