Why two bonuses plus allowance for our "leaders"?

Confuseous

The committee has explained why it does not peg ministerial pay to what other world leaders are paid, by pointing out - among other things - that every country employs different methods to determine the pay of political appointees and conditions in one may not correlate with another's. Also, it notes, in many countries a low cash salary may be topped up with large but less-visible perks.

What makes our politicians so unique that they should not be compared with others elsewhere? Or are we aiming to set global standards?

Methods may be different but the range of quantum is uniform. No one's paid a cleaner's salary to run a First World cuntry. No one's paid millions to run a First World cuntry either (Sinkie politicians notwithstanding).

I see no reason why Singapore should benchmark itself against inferior countries.

Singapore's politicians aren't the riff raff crap you find elsewhere in the world. Just pay them well and be done with it. The country can then move on to dealing with more pressing problems like "long term survival" instead of harping on and on and on and on about insignificant issues such as ministerial pay, some minor breakdowns and a minuscule amount of "pooling" when it rains very heavily.
