Did the inquiry report that it was a PSA employee that was piloting the drillship when it hit the cablecar ropes?

If I'm not mistaken the pilot followed the SOP. They pinned the blame on no one catching the problem

That's the problem with incompetent managements. They rely too much on robotic instructions instead of nurturing a corporate culture of ownership

Actually if they followed SOP they should have known that the drillship was too high to go through that sealane. In fact, SOP was discarded. The whole inquiry was a PR job to safe face for PSA. Lots of money was spent on the inquiry. All the seamen on board the drillship got paid holiday plus generous daily spending money and hotel accomodation while they waited for the inquiry to complete.

The SOP did not require the pilot to check how high the drill rig was. As usual pilots were more concerned with tides and drafts, currents and tugs.

Otherwise he would have been crucified.

The SOP was that the CEO was to check how much money can be generated when SMRT starts its retail business & not to check on engineering & maintenence.

The same goes with the people who are voted into running the government. Why are we so blind to thise all, are we waiting for a disaster where many lives are lost, then we wake up?

Wait for signalling errors & trains crash into each other & lives are lost?, do we wait until then, do we start demanding, heads to roll, transparency & accountanility.

Are we still waiting for that day to come?

UNIVERSAL STUDIO singapore should have a thrill ride like the cable car ;)

LHL was credited with the rescue ops. I am sure a scapegoat was then in position, ready to kena chopped if things went wrong. Surely a win-win for LHL.

The one who got the biggest promotion was COL Lee Hsien Loong, he got promoted to BG for his part as MINDEF Operations Commander

bro, u do sound like u got some sea knowledge. do u know pilot also have to take note of the air draft? i remember they do have height restriction there, correct me if i'm wrong. but i think pilot and VTM never take note of that and that caused the tragedy. Port Master during that time was asked to resign, correct me if im wrong.

Then why was the poor Captain of the Eniwetok charged?
PSA should have been liable. Need to dig deeper for more information.
The credit also went to one top ranking SAF officer by the name of lee Hsien Loong.
Isn't the PM of Singapore also having such a name.
Is it a namesake or same person?

What happened to the poor low ranking RSAF men who were on the winches trying to rescue the people trapped in the dangling cars?
Were they too promoted to Colonels, BGs, MGs, LGs or Field Marshalls.
Surely they deserve such recognition for being in the thick of action as compared to the others in the air-cond Ops Room.
Ha Ha Ha ha. This is my country. This is my song. This is my ARMY - A DECISIVE FORCE.
