Geeze, I've been in situation before. Operation succeed or die. I was already half dead when the doctors asked me to consent form. I half dead still joked with them, I want to sign with Parker pen, not cheap ballpoint. Well anyway, they managed to save me. I wish you all the best, sincerely from my heart.

Just some excessive info ...

I had a good experience with public tertiary medical care over here. For all the bad news about healthcare mistakes and waitingtime, I still find the level of care here better than in Singapore hospitals.

The ambulance driver and assistant were very reassuring and attentive. ER staff and nurses are pretty caring too. I had to wait about 20 mins in the holding area after triage because the staff disappeared to the heli-pad to attend an emergency airlift of dying country car accident patients. They checked on me like every 5 mins and even joke that they had not forgotten me.

WA is a bit different for ambo coverage compared to NSW. My ride on the St John's Emergency ambo cost $475 and is paid in full by Ambo cover.

Meanwhile, my car was still parked at the street kerb.
The City Council later waived my parking fine, and sent me a nice letter after they learnt that I was hospitalised.

One sexy agency nurse even have time to talk to me about her 3 month holidays in IndoChina.

Hospital food is average.
The x-ray machine is 30 years old!
Watch the towels used by nurses - The standard of hygiene is lower than in Singapore.
I simply told the nurse that I have Bacteriophobia so that they will be more careful about me getting discomfort over superbugs.

yeah, we hump the shit out of cro-magnon's. btw, not a patient (no patience for that) but just a disturber of the peace. talked to a native malay chap. he was only 45. had triple bypass at 37, 1st heart attack at 14. not his diet but his genes. afflicted only one sibling out of a dozen, repeatable pattern in family history. he is like the chosen few among 3 generations with susceptible heart disease gene - probably destined in genetic history for early elimination so as to spare others in family from same fate. ironic that modern medicine allows gene to continue reproduction and propagation. :p

These 3 years I have occasional heart palpitation it was so bad ine night that it woke me up and I dare not move after 5mins of persistent palpitation, I slowly made my way to the BP machine and took my readings, machine could not do any ready with a simple message "out of range". Everything slowed down after 15mins. I went to heart doc for checks and scan and even had machine fitted on me for 24hrs while I go home to sleep. No sign of anything. I still get this occasionally and I know heart beat is in range of 150 when it happens but nothing I can do. I wonder if its a warning sign.

take no chances. go see another heart specialist and get an ekg check. heart palpitation and irregular heartbeats are often misdiagnosed. avoid humping thai chicks for a couple of days just to be safe. for sure must avoid sinkie chicks for at least 2 weeks as they can cause heart attack even without sex. :p
