sometime u wonder would it be cheaper if din visit your optician pal. few years back, opitician pal opened a new shop. was invited for the opening ceremony. to wish him luck, i bought a new pair of specs fr him at a very "special"price. by the way, was a progressive, high density transition lens mounted on a titanium frame which cost $800 + (after nett) consider a bargain?

bo bian! my pal what. so pay and go lor.

a few years later, the bridge of the frame suddenly snapped. brought it back to opitic pal and see if it could be repaired. but no. so bo bian again. bought another specs with same characteristics. this time NETT the nett was charged at $400. frame this time was a FULL titanium.

2 yrs later, the right lens suddenly popped out as i was cleaning it. off to optic pal again to fix it back. free of charge of course. and just yesterday, b4 jumping into the pool, removed my specs and hell!! now the left lens popped out.

kek sim!! looks like gotta call upon my optic pal again. it's a very exasperating feel cos he's my pal and so BANG TABLE is totally out of the question. how good would it be if he is just another optician without the pal title. then i would show him the music from table banging :(

so how much should a decent high density, progressive, transition lens with decent spec frame costs nowadays? the last time he offered me one very stylo-milo branded and it cost something like $1.2k~!!

your rational advice is much appreciated. kum siah and thank you.

Sometime, friends are treated as captive customers. Good luck. Suggest you go LASIK to solve all your problems.

Forget LASIK lah. Go for implantable contact lens as I did. Perfect vision is yours within a few hours after the procedure :)

i m from the old school so i prefer to stick on to specs. but was horrifying to realise that a specs now can cost a bomb!! so how much should a decent all-in one cost these days?

pls recommend the optician and perhap i visit that instead of my usual optic pal.
