After nine years as editor of The Straits Times (ST), Mr Han Fook Kwang will relinquish his post in February.

The former senior civil servant who switched to journalism in 1989, will be succeeded by Mr Warren Fernandez, 45, a former deputy editor of the newspaper who left in 2008 to join Shell.

This was announced by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) on Tuesday.

Mr Fernandez will rejoin SPH on Feb 6 and take over as editor of SPH's flagship newspaper on Feb 15.

He has no use for LKY any more, with no new topics to write on. He was such a good pimp that he was always with LKY on overseas trip, to make sure the right things were being reported. This is but the first of the changing of the guards in various areas. LHL running out of time for 2016 and need new pimps.

Both are lampar soh, change soup without changing medicine.

Aiyah loyal PAP dogs like Han Fook Kwang will be duly rewarded with another plump job...

It's a no brainer! Han's loyalty all these years will be duly rewarded. He is ministerial material!

Fully agree. It makes not one bit of a difference who is to be the editor. As David Marshall once put it, the ST is nothing more than a prostitute to the PAP, or more accurately, to LKY. The editors are just merely pawns, or should I say, pimps. Just as with the change of the Chairman SPH earlier in the year, who is actually the head pimp, from Tony Tan to Lee Boon Yang. It's not newsworthy at all.
