[h=3]Journey Forward[/h]
I have formally informed the President and Secretary General of National Solidarity Party in September 2011 that I will let my party membership lapse by the end of the year.

I have joined NSP in 2007 and led the party as Secretary General from February 2010 till June 2011. It is my honor to work closely with the people in NSP to achieve the BEST electoral results ever since the inception of the party more than two decades ago. Regrettably, we did not win any seats but I believe we have built a stronger foundation for the party to set its footing right for next General Elections.

The baton was passed to Hazel Poa and I believe the party will progress steadily under her leadership. The party is under good hands with the hearts at the right place and the sincerity to serve Singaporeans.

Personally, I guess it is time for me to move on to another journey of uncharted waters. Many of my friends and close associates thought that I am quitting politics for good but no, this is not so. The fact that once you have politics in your blood, you will have to live with it for the rest of the life. There are other things which are equally important to contribute towards the political democratic development of Singapore other than joining a party. Some of these things need us to be non-partisan in order to be effective.

To my supporters and friends, rest assured that I will continue to work for Democracy in Singapore in other ways for the moment. Some plans have been drawn out but will only be announced later on when things are firm.

For the mean time, as demonstrated in this blog, I have always been keen in making policy comparisons between Singapore and other places, particularly Honk Kong. I will continue my study and observations between policies applied in different places around the world and look out for the better alternatives for Singapore.

Last but not least, I would like to wish NSP all the best in its future political engagement and hope it will gain electoral success for the next GE.

Goh Meng Seng

Former secretary-general of the National Solidarity Party (NSP), Goh Meng Seng, revealed that he will no longer be with the party as he will allow his membership to lapse by year-end.

In a blog post titled “Journey Forward” published on Thursday, Goh, 41, said he has formally informed the party’s president and current secretary-general, Hazel Poa, of his decision.

Explaining his move, Goh said in his blog, “Personally, I guess it is time for me to move on to another journey of uncharted waters. Many of my friends and close associates thought that I am quitting politics for good but, no, this is not so.”

While he hinted of plans to be involved in other non-partisan related matters, Goh said he will make the announcement at a later time when “things are firm”.

Goh could not be reached when Yahoo! Singapore tried to contact him.

In June this year, he had relinquished his secretary-general position and also stepped down from the party’s central executive committee (CEC) but remained as a congress member.

I guess GMS has finally seen the light.

Way forward is to rope is establishment stalwarts & well known backbenchers with a good record of community service to form a new independent political entity.

With apologies to Pablo Neruda, when GMS sees the sea once more, will the sea have seen or not seen him??

Perhaps Pap should recruit him.

As I said, GMS is only fit to be a political activist not politician.

One should be leaving this forum and not the party, but chose to leave the party and not this forum. Weird people weird decisions.

As I said, GMS is only fit to be a political activist not politician.

With no reference to him (and I seriously mean it), both roles needs one to be a good leader and if the person is not, he/she cannot be either. Then he/she can be a political volunteer/helper.

Bro, it won't be too long before he suffers another blackout. Either that or, he spotted the wrong light, being colour blind.

Seeing the light don't need colour, it is either black or white!, GMS will now join the CE3K party :D

I have made peace with Goh meng seng and have not spoken ill of him (at least I'm trying very hard not to haha).

But Goh meng seng's chance of a lifetime was in May this year. Head of a party, all time high sentiment against Pap and ran against one of the most despised ministers Mah boh chee. Even the state media gave him airtime on the CNA debate. Too bad he couldn't make a breakthrough with all those factors in his favour.

He can criticise them all he wants now but WP has become the toast of the moment.

What he says and does in the next 5 years will more career deciding than the last.

One who indirectly admitted that he had put together a lousy team and went to a hard ground? Where got factors in his favour.

The logic goes that if NSP's CCK team went to MK (which was "snatched" by WP) they would have won. But under the same conditions that NSP MK could win, NSP Tampines did not win, which means either the Tampines team was lousier or the ground in Tampines was harder.

I am only speaking as a observer / informed voter.

I got no insider info and I don't read any posts by both of you. Too complicated for me.

PKMS Chief : '' Kapitan Goh Meng Seng, got advisory post for you at PKMS... You interested or not..??? ''

Not insider info. It's in the other thread.

Anyway, someone was asking me if the ballistics on WP and reactions thereafter was the reason for leaving, or the mind was already made up therefore the care-less ballistics, or the third a mix of both - already made up mind and reactions on the ballistics only determined the timing.

Not a question that I would be interested in, seriously.

But a dumb move is one that only helps vindicate the object of ballistics that in 2006 it was not so much about WP but the chap who has no staying power, while NSP now takes over the perception as the high-turnover party after RP. Only achieved pushing WP notches up further and NSP the other way, when the distance was already widening.

When I read what the insects sing, I really want to laugh until I puke! LOL!

Goh Meng Seng

I just brought cookies for the village idiot. The titbits in the comments section - http://sg.news.yahoo.com/nsp’s-goh-meng-seng-to-leave-party.html#

all the comments from Yahoo then amke me to laugh until I puke! LOL! got many insects there too... people who dun agree with him are all insects

I'm surprise he is only 41, he looks like he is 50+
I'm sure he'll be joining another party

Resigning from NSP and yet not quitting politic for good.
Hope he is not planning to form another new party, let hope not because it is getting too crowded and confused with too many political parties to split and spoil votes.

All opposition members who are capable and really serious about having a credible alternative voice should join Workers party. No chance to win any election with all the bickerings within and between these small opposition parties

Why never see any PAP di*ckhead leae their sh*its hole? I only explaination is because their our fed with big fat pay from our taxpayers'money and quinsk their thirst by sucking the nation blood.

Super High Nutrition, so die die they cling on and becomes YESMEN or YESWOMEN.

Correct me if I am wrong...:-P

If he does not want to be associated with his Party, but is not going to
quit politics for good as he is planning to be involved in other "non-
partisan related matters", is he preparing to go on a journey of unchartered
waters towards the Istana as his final destination?
Let's wait and see.

congress member ??
who the hack is he , NSP ??? hello no seat la
should humbly join WP , instead of starting one
wasting time

Greed is the killer. How much was he paid to act?

Stop your wayang

DEAR NSP,SPOREANS KNOW THE GROUND VERY WELL.IF YOU WANT TO SPEAK FOR THE SUFFERINGS OF COMMON SPOREANS IN GE2016, YOU GOT TO JOIN WP IN NEX GE. WP IS NOW THE BRANDING. AS I SAID,WE KNOW THE GROUND.

Everytime we would say that the ruling party never listen to our plight. But how many time did we mentioned about the opposition never consider to do the same for us"LISTEN"????? We have been wanting a United Opposition or a Coalition Party to take on the ruling party but what did we get???? Bottomline is, everyone of the so called alternative voice is just NATO only.... If the Opposition care about the Singaporean plight, they will put aside their differences and form a alliance to challenge the MIW instead of going at it individually. This will only cause the people more confusion as to who will serve the Country better as each party always trying to outdo each other with their manifesto....In the end, the people, especially the older ones will just go with the ruling party for continuity..As it is the safest bet for them. Just my thought......

Another Opposition quit . Alot been said during the GE, everyone claim to be in the opposition bcos they see the need to help the poor, the elderly , the working class singaporean which they claimed the government has neglected their welfare, their concerns etc... So where are these oppositions, especially the vocal ones... where is Nicole Seah , Tan Jee Say and the rest. Tan Jee Say even went a step further to participate in the Presidential election.... where is the HEART ??
All these shows one thing, they are in for their own self-image selfish agenda and their supporters because of their disappointment with the government , believe and voted for them .
Oppositions do not have to be in parliament to voice the concerns of the singaporean, they could highlight the plight of the elderly, the poor .... in the media, Singaporean will be quick to react and be a good judge of whether the government is responding to it.... There are many issues brought up by the government lately... the HDB, the scrapping of ERP on the weekend , the cutting off of foreign worker - how will that affect the business especially the small local business , the review of the elderly CPF contribution , etc.... where is the voice of Nicole Seah, Tan Jee Say and Hazel Poa , where can elderly see you Nicole that you cried hearing the plight of the elderly during the GE or Tan Jee Say that you have a heart and feel for the Singaporean.

learn from the PE, 4 to contest is too many la, the result tells all. votes splitted!!

Doesn't matter whether he stays or goes, nobody care or notice. He is just a nobody. He typifies all opposition candidates - neither substance nor style, cannot think and cannot present himself well. Completely useless. With the wealth of talent in our ruling party, we don't need any opposition candidates in our parliament.

come and go.....that why opposition cannot grow,..

I am against PAP all this time, but you are trash in my opinion. Such a failure..you are weakling in my eyes, that's what it is.
