Truth is PAP has lost centralised control of the grassroots. Only slightly more than half of them helped TT. The rest helped TCB. That reflected in the results. Despite the split, the TT and TCB manpower were still overwhelming versus TJS and TKL. TJS has the full force of SDP plus some of NSP, however small still a force. TKL had nothing to begin with. No (or very few) NTUC people would support or help him after his scathing remarks against them on his departure as CEO.
