I know a number of Malay friends, they earn less than $2K and their wife not working. They have more than 3 kids, yet they can survivie with the meagre salary. You see they are always happy.

For us Chinese, KNNBCCB, $2K is hardly enough for one person, let alone a family of 5 to 8.

Are we having too high expectation in life? Did we miss out the simple joy of life?

OK, this is not meant to be a racist and condescending thread. But I think sometimes our life get too complicated. We have expensive toys, gadgets and eat expensive. Simple food, play simple games like football or going to the beach is also fun!

Well, for one thing, we are not Malays... At least I am not. If you try to pull the same stunts as a Malay would, you would be sacked, sued, bankrupted and jailed. In my number of years of working life, I have asked one, "why so many children"? "god blessed tme", after 4 children, they stopped; I ask why you stopped, " god told him to stop".

It was more like the employer (god) was threathing to sack, for the person have to moonlight a second job, & is constantly on Medical Leave, Annual Leave, Emergency leave...it was this god, that influenced the stop at 4.

How they manage is amazing!. Is it true they receice free education until Pr.6, and get a lot of benefits from MUIS etc??
