mrbrown says it all for us. msia customs are sadistic. many unwary tourists especailly sgporeans are being sabo-ed by them. so check your passport to see the custom officer does chop it.

just can't understand how malaysia does't improve much over so many years!

if u r crossing JB custom nowadays, it's getting very frustrating. they intro the new biometric finger printing. instead of just taking a thumb print, they want both hands' index fingers print. the worst part - the scanner don't work very well and u ve to repeat placing ur 2 index fingers and wait....and wait...and wait..and the queue gets longer :(

i wonder if that were to happen to singapore, what would be the uproar?

malaysia is a very ironical country. it wants touri$t $$ and yet at the custom, they frustrate many tourists. is it natural that they work at slow motion or there is lack of motivation to get the custom officers to be more efficient and perhaps chop a little bit faster with ink and not invisible ink sometimes and getting unwary tourists into trouble when they check out of their country.

why do they love doing such hideous deed stressing tourists unnecessarily?....and they still want the tourist dollars. what a weird contrary!!

years ago when i drove thru the malaysian custom during midnight, i have to pay $50 ringit levy cos my car trunk got one industrial machine. they told us that if we want to cross,we have to leave the machine behind. so understood pay them M$50 after bargain, at first they asked for M$100. in JB, this kind of thing happen very frequently at night, especially after midnight. in the day, they still dare not be so daring ask for money.

lianbeng says, "is that so important to them? just flash some SGD$50 blue notes can go liao lor.":D

3 things can happen when u do that.

1, they take it and u get an easier passage.
2, they don't take it and u get chromed pain pain after they strip u off even your undies then fine or jail u
3. they take ur bribe, guide u to a dark room, strip u off naked and chromed u hard, fine or jail u

already mentioned, msian custom are sadistic and slow motion.

lianbeng says there are certain "golden times" all got to wait long long at the queues - change shift time, sambayang time (every friday between 12noon-2pm), etc... sometimes they go sambayang then go home liao.:D

such occurence is quite rare but if u drive DO NOT ENCOUNTER TIKUS PUTEH or the white mice or the very corrupted traffic cops who demand for " on the spot summon in cash or else" ......

it seems very unnatural if those custom mats really work efficiently. seem that fr ground zero to ground hero, all stages are the same which makes malaysia quite stagnant in time, ie, barely any noticeable improvement.
