At this rate you need to wait for another 2 elections, that is assuming the swing is consistent each time till then. So by GE 2021 there should be at least half of the seats that could be taken by the opposition. However, seeing that there is only like 6 oppo MPs versus 71, we might have to wait longer then that. Maybe your children could benefit then.
I doubt so, PAP is not a static animal. They will "listen" more to the people initially. After they get the equilibrium right in "giving" just enough to the people on what they want, they will return to their greedy days.
I expect more propaganda to keep their voters happy.
Indeed, hence my assumption that the swing has to be consistent till then. I thought more seats could be obtained. Then again, it has to be realistic. Singapore, even with all the gripes in this forum shows is not that bad. Real change can only happen when you have really pissed off its people like in Libya, Egypt etc. Even in Malaysia, with all its discriminatory policy, the incumbent was returned to power.
About middle east/north africans being pissed off
1. In Singapore/Australia, 10% of income spent on food. In Egypt, up to 70% spent on food. And food prices are raising to record level.
2. Egypt/Libya/Yeman/Syria are still under martial laws or emergency laws.
I will be Morocco next week, and visiting Rick's cafe in Casablanca.
Hope no terrorists.
Yes, the new generation look at PAP differently, just as younger Egyptians spoke about changes when I was there.
Even the fortune tellers are telling us the same thing. By the way, Yesterday is a good day for PAP to conduct General Election
I have a Beijinger travelling with me in a group. She says that young Beijingers are totally different from the old birds runnning China. I expect political changes there as well.
We live in Interesting time, Ash007.![]()
PAP must win again, if not how to take back your CPF when the new government comes in and pretend?
I escape Singapore to avoid the tax called CPF![]()
