Vivian said S$500m set aside annually

note: setting aside may just mean putting on standby and not all used to pay the needy families.....

http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporescene/mcys-not-stingy-dr-vivian-balakrishnan-170622205.html

He added that around SS$500 million is also put aside annually, for needy families in Singapore, including those who are lower-income earners, disadvantaged or require social assistance.

We know that Comcare fund is set up under MCYS to help the needy families.

http://app1.mcys.gov.sg/Portals/0/Summary/publication/CSSD/Comcare FY2009.pdf

When I read the annual report, I was quite in shock to see that only S$33M were granted in the year ended Mar2010. See page 33.

In year ended Mar2010, the fund received no money from the government. See page 31.

Total balance in fund S$815M can last 24 years without receiving any money from the government, if they give S$33M grant each year.

Did I miss anything? Can someone please tell me?

After all these years, you still believe what they say ?
If their words can be trusted, shit can be eaten.
Now whenever they say something, I will take it as 95% bullshit..... and maybe only 5% is the truth.

Why are you guys so keen on helping the poor (by giving them direct $$$$)???????????

The only way to get out of poverty is
1) Have a job
2) Get educated

Giving them $$$/food/housing will not solve the problem
