Personally, it is very disappointing that the Nobel Prize Committee chose him over many other current gifted economists to win. The decision is regrettable, even though Krugman is a respectable economist, but not really the most outstanding economist.

Mr. Tharman was not a candidate I had in mind. While he may be competent in economic theories and economic policy implementation, his lack of a PhD qualification puts him at a disadvantage for consideration to win the prize.
my alma mater won at last!
robertson hall...ahh those were the days
congratulations prof krugman!
I am not surprised that he won the nobel price.
His views has been very consistent, most of the time spot on
and he speaks his mind without fear. Most economist are half
baked retracting their theory when things changes.
do you know where's the article he published that won him the prize?
Oh btw, Prof. Krugman has a very post at Princeton. He's now occupying the same post as Ben Berkanke, even though both are ideologically opposite.
