87 years old MM dines with 91 years old Taiwan's ex-premier

Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew met an old friend, former Taiwanese Premier Hau Pei-tsun, for dinner on Tuesday.

Mr Hau, 91, who was the island's premier from 1990 to 1993, was in Singapore for a private visit.

He is known to be close to Singapore and was in 1988 conferred Singapore's highest military award, the Darjah Utama Bakti Chemerlang (Tentera) - the Distinguished Service Order (Military) - for his contributions in promoting good relations between Singapore and Taiwan.
