Healthy Diet if you have cancer

Scientists in the US are closer than ever of finding a cure for breast cancer........

I somehow doubt it.

Cancer is a a very complicated illness. Some say it's caused by the processed foods that we eat. The commercialisation of our food source has resulted in too many chemicals being added to our foods.

Processing has resulted in the removal of alot of nutirents from our foods. Modern milling methods produce wheat that has less Vit E. Our cooking oils have been designed to have a longer shelf life at the cost of being unhealthy.

Added to that are the the hundreds of man made chemicals that's in our water & air.

Even if they find the cause of cancers, can they find a cure if it means that we need to start cleaning up the environment:confused:

There's also the politic$$ involved in medicine. Who is going to offer a cheap or free cure:confused: Do you think our PAP controlled hospitals would be so generous:rolleyes:
 
For people who consume large amount of alcohol, do drink a glass of water with squeezed lemon juice every other day, the first thing in the morning. This is done to protect the liver.:o


Might want to consider taking alpha lipoic acid and milk thistle to protect the liver. It's never too late because the liver has the ability to recover from neglect.
 
Johnny, go and invest a few thousand Dollars on a reasonably good road-bike & slowly train yourself to ride about 70-80
kms a day. I guarantee you that your heart will be strong and healthy again and your diabetes will eventually go away.

If you're still in your 50's or 60's it's still not too late for cycling is a non-impact exercise.

If got diabetes, don't play-play anyhow self-medicate. Go consult doctor. I've seen two play-play cases ended up in amputation already. One was 60+ and the other was 40+ only.
 
I concur that getting all these supplements from US is sooooo much cheaper. even with the shipping costs factored in, still 30-40% cheaper. Only thing is you gotta take note of the expiry date as you will be buying 2 years of supply at one go. That's what i did.

Currently taking Pycnogenol (pin bark extract) GNC Grape seed extract and Sunkist Blueberry capsules. All these are highly potent with antioxidants. Will try your recommendations of flax seed oils when im done with my stock of antioxidants. Bless all..... :)

I really hate needles even those that only prick the finger, the ones used by diabetics for their daily tests. I still remember my hospital stay when they would inject me in the stomach until my stomach turned blue black:(

My most recent blood test a few months ago showed that my sugar is under control. Not too surprising since I'm taking alot of antioxidants which is good for both heart problems AND diabetes.

Together with the antioxidants I'm taking a multi-vitamins designed for sugar control which includes Chromium, Gymnema sylvestre and Vanadium which have been shown to be important in sugar control

Although I don't do daily tests I do monitor my urine for color & smell.

Another symptom that my diabetes is under control is that I don't feel the urge to snack. I've lost quite alot of weigh :) I may look scrawny but weight loss is healthy. I've even got a weight control product which I use before eating meals that contain starchy rice because it sometimes causes angina pains :( The weight control product blocks & slows down the absorption of starches, carbohydrates,...

For snacking I do have granola bars, Voortman oat meal biscuits on standby. These products don't contains any trans fats :)

Yes it is a good idea to have the guidance of a doctor however choose a doctor which believes in integrative medicine & not one that only relies on medications

Not only that, if a person is on high risk of heart-attack
and stroke, for diabetic, the risks are double.
High risks ~ Over weight, High blood pressure, high blood sugar level

"I thought about what I had eaten in the past - meat, fish, fried and grilled food, sweet cake, but God simply wanted us to eat vegetables and sour fruits. I was confused and doubted whether I would become weak if I ate too many vegetables and less meat," says Dr Wu.

The human body has the power to heal itself. The immune system has a self-defence mechanism to block and destroy bacteria or viruses that invade our bodies, while the self-healing mechanism will get us back on the road to recovery. When you have a cold and take medicine, the medication may kill the virus but your immune system will not fully function, and its efficiency will decrease. 1. Have at least three bowel movements a day.

Other health experts may advise one bowel movement a day, but Dr Wu says that's not enough. You need three to four bowel movements a day in order to excrete all the accumulated faeces from your intestine.. Your liver will not be overburdened and it also helps reduce cholesterol in your body.

2. Drink at least three glasses of fruit or vegetable smoothies each day.

This is a way to ingest enough phytochemicals to strengthen the body's cells and immune system. Use not only the flesh, but also the skin and seeds of fruits and vegetables to make smoothies, as they are rich in phytochemicals. Most of the fruit seeds have small amounts of cyanide which kill bacteria and viruses without damaging the body.

Actually the recommended smoothie diet is six glasses a day, two in the morning, one before lunch, two more in the afternoon, and one more before dinner. However, if that's too much, you may start with three glasses a day. Use a high powered blender (at least three horsepower) as it can release phytochemicals from the fibre. It's best to choose sour fruits like green or red apples, grapes, pineapples, kiwi and lime.

3. Sunbathe 30 minutes daily.

We often hear that the Sun's UV rays will damage our skin, and many people apply sunblock before going out. But Dr Wu says the opposite. He says the UV rays will help convert cholesterol underneath the skin into vitamin A which helps moisten the skin and
prevent skin cancer, and also vitamin D that helps prevent colds, osteoporosis, and certain kinds of cancer.

"Therefore, use the Sun. Expose yourself to sunlight about one-half hour a day, at noon or another appropriate time based on your local climate. The Sun will make you healthier," says Dr Wu.

4. Exercise 30 minutes a day.

Don't exercise for more than 30 minutes. If you go beyond that, your body will be overworked. "If you do it more than half an hour, that will become labour, not exercise. Your heart and your body will be working too hard," he says.

5. Shower with hot, then cold water.

Try an alternating cold and hot water shower: Three minutes of hot water followed by 30 seconds of cold water, then repeat twice more. This process will bring a rush of blood and energy to your body. It helps increase your immune system, blood circulation, and metabolism.

6. Drink a lot of water, in the correct way.

How much water you need to drink each day depends on your specific situation. If your office is air-conditioned, drinking six glasses of water a day is enough. If your work involves lots of walking, you have to drink 8-10 glasses a day. If you work under the hot sun, then 10-12 glasses of water are required.

The way you drink is also important. The correct way is to sip it little by little, to give your body cells time to absorb the water. If you drink the whole glass down at once, your cells can't absorb it all, and the water will be excreted as urine.

7. Eat according to your blood type.

Your blood type determines what you should eat. Eating the wrong foods will make you sick.

People with blood type O have to eat a certain amount of meat. If they eat only vegetables for a long time, their body won't absorb all the substances they need to strengthen their immune system. The recommended diet for this group is 75% vegetables, 10% fruits, 10% meat, seafood and goat's milk (avoid cow's milk), and 5% grains.

People with blood type A, however should avoid milk and meat, while increasing grains and fruits. People with blood type B should also avoid meat, while those with blood type AB should avoid chicken and beef.

8. Eat according to your biological clock..

Every human being has a biological clock that tells us when to eat, sleep, and wake up. If you don't follow your biological clock, the organs will lose their balance. Toxins and wastes won't be excreted from your body, and soon you'll get sick.

According to Dr Wu, the biological clock is divided into three phases.

From 4am to noon is the time for bowel movements, so in the morning you should eat foods with lots of fibre. Fruit and vegetable smoothies are recommended.

From noon to 8pm, your body will absorb food so lunch is the most important meal. A vegetable salad with grains is recommended. Fish or boiled eggs can be added to your lunch. Avoid meat at dinner as the amino acids in the meat will disturb your sleep. Try to finish dinner by 6pm.

From 8pm to 4am, the nutrients and energy from food will be distributed throughout your body organs. The golden time for your sleep is between 10pm and 2am, as your immune and self-healing system will function at its best.

Companies like iHerb.com have very fresh stocks. You can tell as they sometimes don't have stock & they do indicate the expiry date.

For cheaper Pycnogenol go check these other brands which have licences to distribute pycnogenol products. I'm taking the Healthy Origin products

One thing I noticed from buying the flax seed oil from Unity. The stock is quite old & they sell in 8oz bottle. For the same price I can get a 32 oz bottle & fresher stock from the US:eek:

I only buy 3 months of stocks because I do like to rotate & try different brands. Paying US$30 for shipment is not a problem for me because I also get stuff for the family & if you are buying CoQ10, you save so much by buying directly from the US. I've actually moved on to the more potent Ubiquinol & I haven't seen it sold anywhere in Spore :eek:

You can also opt for delivery by post it only costs US$4. However these orders are limited to a maximum of US$80 & must weigh under 4lbs. The plus side is that you don't have to pay gst when it reaches Spore.

A doctor is not god, he can advise but it's ultimately up to the patient to decide on the course of action. The problem in Spore is that too many put too much trust in the "experts" & don't do their own homework:rolleyes:

In my case I already had a heart attack & the doctor wanted to install a stent but after he went he found out that I had too many blockages. The only option provided to me was open heart surgery.

He was prescribing all sorts of expensive medications which I've since learned has dreadful side-effects. :(

I was lucky, I went on to find out about alternative & safer therapies like EECP, IV Chealtion, & supplements. As consumers we must always keep in mind "caveat emptor'

Considered getting a bicycle but it's too dangerous out there:eek: Might end up as road kill for some impatient motorist:(

I did get a Nintendo WII with the balance board & some exercise programs. However it gets kinda of boring after a while.

Must also consider that with so many cars out there, the air in Spore is polluted. So I've chosen the safer option of walking around indoors in a mall.

Thinking of moving somewhere with cleaner air with a more pedestrian/cyclist friendly environment :)

The only way is to be your own boss. I have been stressed and bullied by different superior for years. At one stage I thought I needed to see psychologist due to emotional stress. Now I decided to look life forward, money is not everything, or at least I know it has been locked up by PAP at their disposal. They happy, Singaporeans suffer. Thus this country will be happy again if PAP is voted out.
