Shih did not mobilise "millions of people" in the protest against Ah Bian.
Taiwan's population is 23 million, how many millions could he have mobilised?
Mobilise 6 million and he would still be the chairman of DPP. 10 million and he would be president.
Reports are that he managed to get about 1 million people to donate to this cause. Doesn't mean that they all support him, many of them just hate Ah Bian.
The red shirt protest movement on the streets was between 100K to 300K depending on whether you believe police reports or protestors' reports.
And it was Shih who decided not to topple Ah Bian by force or with violence.
Of course, Ah Bian, being Ah Bian refused to resign.
