Malaysia plans to build two nuclear power plants that will generate 1,000 megawatts each with the first plant ready for operation in 2021 and the second plant, a year later, as part of the overall long-term plan to balance energy supply.

Stop getting ripped off by PUB / Singapore Power Grid, buy nuclear generated power from Malaysia! Cheaper and better! :p:D

Malaysia Boleh!

Knowing the way Malaysian Industries work and their "effectiveness", I could see a nuclear fallout happening, or better, the plant will never be completed.

They will be completed at 4 times the costs and running at half the capacity. :D

Malaysia Truly Boleh !!!

when there is big big projects... all ministers and civil servant... $$ in the bag :D:D

Singapore should convert Pedra Blanca to a floating nuclear reactor and cable the power back. Buying power from Malaysia is a no-no. Even water already so troublesome and quarrelsome. Buying a nuclear missile submarine from UK or US should be seriously considered. They're upgrading and decommissioning some older ones.

I can hear people asking why should Singapore want nuclear weapons? Against Malaysia? Against Indonesia? Of course not! It's to protect us against Chia Ti Lik in case of a freak election and he comes to power and invades North Korea!

They should build it directly opposite Pasir Ris GRC of Teo Chee Hean - at Pasir Gudang. Ho Ho Ho! Santa is coming to town!
:D

They should then buy an old and cheap ex-Soviet Nuke Sub and put in Pasir Gudang Port's slip-way. To generate power, should be able to power up entire Johore. If it leaks or got over heated, press the emergency button that will launch it out of the shipyard like champagne ceremony for launching new ships, to slide it down the sea directly coming to Pasir Ris.

And say Bye Bye to Singaporeans. Salamat Mati!

:D

hahaha...pedra blanca is an island...how u float an island?
it should be offshore installation.
the fallout from any nuclear accident will affect the whole region so it doesn't matter where u site the installation.
When our neighbour has nuclear power plant, u can be sure Sinkapore will also built nuclear power plant.
The only reason we are holding back now is because of political sensitivity to our neighbours.

Your statement that we should considered buying nuclear missile sub is a big joke...right?

A small island is commonly referred to as a float. Nevermind, that's just semantics. Nuclear electricity reactor won't blow up just like that. Nuclear electricity is not the same as nuclear weapon. Almost all countries in North America, Europe and Japan have these. Accident rate? 1/???? Chenobyl.

The part about CTL invading NK is a joke. But having nuclear weapon in the form of nuclear missile submarine is not a joke. It's the best deterrent, not 300,000 NSmen suddenly receiving SAF100s to go fight and die for country.

Everyone is talking about going nuclear: Indonesia, Malaysia, LOS & Spore.

If or rather when we have an accident we can all hold hands and sing Kumbaya :)

Are you kidding me pedra blanca is an island ?
It is just a small rock enough for one PAPee to masturbate there.

It's just nice size for a nuclear power reactor and near enough to economically cable the power generated to Singapore.

hahaha...u may call it a rock but we could have gone to "war" with mudland over it; trust me.

I have long advocated Sinkapore to go nuclear and i don't mean just nuclear reactor! We should acquire nuclear warheads, nuclear submarines and nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

Hmm.. sounds familiar. Our government is very capable of doing this as well. Remember YOG?

previously, when the samy vellu guy was works minister, nuclear fallout would have been a sure thing. It comes with the contract. LOL

the problem that PAP has is that they are 0 singaporeans with nuclear expertise

after you build the nuclear plant, i seriously doubt you want FT to man the plants. even with BTO, i think there is too much risk to put the lives of all singaporeans in the hands of a few untrained sheeps. and how about the cost of uranium and the disposal of nuclear waste?

Where to locate Singapore's nuclear reactor?

Istana is the only place that most Singaporeans will agree?

:p

Singapore used to have no experience with air force, navy and casino too. There's a first time for everything. Even North Korea could run nuclear reactors when they're determined enough to learn. If Singapore has it, the first batch of staff to run it should probably be FTs, real FTs, nuclear scientists and engineers. Thereafter, more Singaporeans would learn how to run and gradually replace them.
