the best bystander can do is to activate the alarm to stop the train, most of the time, it is too late. I do not expect people to jump into track to pull him out. At least two person working together to pull that off.

It's not an MRT track that one has to jump in. It's a level ground railway track. Any ablebodied man should be able to drag him out. It's sad that they turned away.

It's a railroad crossing. Even Singapore has, somewhere around Bukit Timah. Perhaps you've never taken a KTM train before, only MRT.

Singapore also have the railway crossing on the normal road level.
1. One near CCK 10 mile Junction.
2. Near the CCK north or big longkang near the Caltex station is a shortcut rd not many know unless those staying there or jogging near the canal. Railway just beside the canal.
3. In Kranji Rd not many people will drive thru there unless those work there or go fishing now the rail exit.
4. Another I think there is another one , that I not remember.

All the railway road crossing gate are operated manually in Singapore meaning a man will station there 24/7 sleep there/eat/shower..... until 2nd man come in to replace maybe 1 or 2 week time. His jobs is to close the gate and open the gate. One day I think less than 10 train passing and is a very boring job suitable for those lazy person don't want to leave the place.
Hope that after the railway land deal swap. The station or Malay people called ( Pondok) will remain as a historcal place.
