I don't see anyone giving feedback on the Japanese style washers. These machines are usually cheaper than western style washers.

The promotional material advertise the use of bubble action to clean. These washers don't have a spindle to agitate the cloths.

Curious to know from owners of these type of washers why they chose this type of machine over the western type machines:confused:

Get a net. That will protect some of your clothes. eg : underwear , singlet , shirts.

My umpteenth yrs of using top loading wm tell me it's the best for you. Not the Jap types but the Euro or American ones, where the rotating druim is vertical. Jap horiz rotating barrels use more water and more $$$.

Other Reasons:

1. more economical with water use
2. can always open the cover and put in last min items (front loading will cause S'pore to flood if you open after water has filled, but not top loaders)
3. tend to be narrower but taller so use up less space - also you dont need to leave space for door opening or to squat in front; yr butt takes up space in case u dun realise it.

My fav brand: Philips now Whirlpool.

Any idea where to get a good washing machine, must be top load and at least 8.5-9kg capacity. Pls state brand, model no and share yr experience.

Price is not an issue.

I'm only using the price it to describe the Japanese models and curious how those units perform. I notice those units use plastic tubs.

I wouldn't choose a washer based only on price. More important criteria for me is reliability, energy & water efficiency.
