Worst punishment for a person is to be put in isolation ward: MM Lee

SINGAPORE: For someone who continues to advocate the importance of working for as long as a person can, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew said the worst punishment one can give a person is the isolation ward. The person, he said, would get hallucinations.

Sharing anecdotes about his personal life and religious beliefs in an interview with the New York Times and the International Herald Tribune, Mr Lee said that without interaction with people, a person is isolated.

Mr Lee keeps his mind alive with constant stimulus as he keeps himself up to date. For example, he said, he goes to China once a year at least to meet Chinese leaders.

And he will be off to Moscow, Kiev and Paris on 15 September. Mr Lee said: "(In) Paris, I am on the TOTAL Advisory Board together with Joe Nye and a few others. They want a presentation on China's strengths and weaknesses.

"It's not just my impressionistic view of China but one that has to be backed by facts and figures. So my team works out the facts and figures, and I check to see if they tally with my impressions. But it's a constant stimulus to keep alive and up-to-date. If I stop it, it's downhill."

The Minister Mentor also stresses the need to keep fit and exercise. For himself, he cycles and swims every day.

of course lah, if no big talk, how the fairy-tale economy continues right !

remember the chinese dictum---old tree falls, monkeys all scoots !

hahahaha...seeing him suffering mentally is a rejoice to so many people !

he should live longer to see more changes !

hahahaha.....swimming and cycling ? may be hallucinating !

facing death is no easy thing especially to some extreme wicked people !

Cycling is good, save topping up EZ link cards.

Swimming is good, save PUB bills, shower there.

Yah, yah he can work. What work is he doing except 'forecasting' and talking cock? And getting paid $3 million annually.

The last time I saw him swam was in a TV news footage almost ten years ago ago, like early 2000s. Minus 10 from now at age 77 still not bad. But it was in home pool. Mao Zedong did a better one in the early 1970s, he swam in Hunan Province Xiangjiang River. I had the honour of swimming there a few years ago.

You mean you swam in the river with Mao Ze Dong?:D

I swam there about 5 years ago, about 30 years after Mao Zedong died. Recommended and encouraged to dive in by my (now-ex) girlfriend's brother, saying it's an honour to swim in the river that Chairman Mao swam. If Chairman Mao was swimming with me then, I'd be worried.

He is going to jiahong again, will he bring along his beloved 'living corpse?

Can breath, can hear cannot talk, cannot eat cannot drink - no joy and All tears for the family. This is God gift to wicked people - hell on earth.

My friend mother had a stroke 3 months ago and now she is in hopsice ward and @ $2,000 a month. Seeing her as a 'living corpse' can breath only is a sad picture. All they can do is crying when they visited her and then prayed for her.

The atmosphere is worst then just 'once' funeral wake for a dead carcass, for a living corpse it is a repeated funeral wakes in every visit, only minus the 'sai kong' rituals. Dr St Peter can only leeport that her conditions can only get worst and prepared for her funeral, but when? is at God's hand.

In the Bible, Jesus said it is harder for the rich to go to his kingdom of heaven which is true becos money (the evil) kept the living corpse alive, and for the poor, no money die early!

Does he have a problem with shrinkage after swimming?
Where is that damn Costanza when we want him? :)

Why you want to swim in the river that has sewerage dumped into it daily? :oIo:
Don't worry. It's scenic and touristy (i.e. protected) part of Xiangjiang near Guilin in Guangxi Province. Many people were swimming there. The only pollution (and potential danger) perhaps was the ferry that passed by about once every 15 minutes. Just don't swim near the ferry.

The following is Chairman Mao swimming. Note the similarities between Chairman Mao and MM Lee as they age in office and refuse to retire.

That's the Yangtze River swim, serious stuff not much difference from swimming at sea. The Xiangjiang part where I swam was kiddy stuff in comparison; perhaps the width twice of Singapore River only. Anyway, I like their caution signage for At Your Own Risk in Chinese,后果自负。

I suppose if MM wanted to do the equivalent, we could find a disused YOG swimming pool. We could line them with the 82 MPs and MM could be seen swimming vigourously up and down the length of the pool.
