SINGAPORE: Haiti beat Singapore 2-0 in the semi-finals of the Boys' football competition at Jalan Besar Stadium on Sunday.

Unlike their previous two matches, Team Singapore was not able to get an early lead.

Singapore had a few chances, but could not find the back of the net.

They were punished for their misses when Haiti scored in the 37th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, with their confidence boosted, Haiti continued to threaten the Singapore goal.

To make matters worse, Singapore gave away a penalty late in the match, which Haiti converted to secure their place in the final.

Singapore will now play for bronze on Wednesday against Montenegro, who were beaten 3-1 by Bolivia in the earlier semi-final match.

Didn't watched the first game when the cubs won but read many articles praising them and many saw 'talents'-in-the-making.

Happened to watch yesterday's game around midnite. The cubs were just a bunch of, well....cubs. Lousy strategy, poor defences, poor passing and not even hungry for the ball. Exactly like well-fed cubs just like the goalkeeper !

Against 5 other teams from countries which either I never know existed or in war-torn countries, in short First-World vs 3rd World, and First World with last night's standard of play, I wonder how they are expecting the Gold Medal.

The oppositions in SINgapore all train on uneven ground, they never win much, only on penalties; for they keep shfiting the goal posts, the refree & all the linesmen, 'kelong'.
