In an interview with Lianhe Wanbao yesterday, Bukit Panjang MP Dr Teo Ho Pin admitted that it may be too early for the PAP to call for an election this year.
It was rumored at the beginning of the year that the next general election will be called either in June or December during the school holidays after the electoral registers were updated.
Many believe that the PAP will call an election after the expected euphoria from hosting the inaugural Youth Olympic Games and with the strong performance of the Singapore economy, but with public disgruntlement against the PAP at an all-time high after the recent spates of flooding coupled with the failure of the YOG to inspire young Singaporeans, it may be postponing the election till sentiments on the ground improve.
Dr Teo listed down three key issues which the PAP must resolve before the next general election: the frequent floodings, sky-rocketing HDB prices and the new distance-based bus fair which has led to a portion of commuters paying more.
If I am the one making the decision, I will definitely not call for an election this year. There are still issues which are not settled which may result in some Singaporeans bearing a grudge against the government. Next year will be a better time, he was quoted as saying in Lianhe Wanbao.
Dr Teo who won Bukit Panjang with 77.9 percent of the valid votes in the 2006 elections against SDP Chairman Ling How Doong, said he is confident that he will be able to retain his seat again.

He might as well wait forever, because the more things PAP touches, the more they will screw up big-time, and there'll never be an election.

Remember even when the ground was sweet under wooden seat-warmer Goh Chok Tong, the percentage of votes dropped! o gone are the days they can fool the people, and lull them with 'goodies'. Voters are younger, more savvy, read and seen more on the internet..at the same time, ak peks and aunties are also angry, so their ground support is withering..

Time to dig their mass graves..

What the fuck is he saying? If the PAPPies are still adamant with their anti-citizens but pro foreign trash policies, I believe next year will not be any different from this year.

Housing and transport issues, not easy to solve in such a short period of time. Building a parallel MRT line needs 7 years! Building HDB flats need at least 2 years. Whether it is holding a GE end of this year or next, doesn't really make the difference!

What he is saying is that, they need one year lead to 'fix' SINgaporeans, espcially many of the 66.6%, with bonuses, increments & 'sweetners'.

More, 'goodies' in the bag to 'fix' the rest of SINgaporeans...from his remarks, you can see many of these, dare not fight for the people; or offer changes that will improve their lives. All they do is toe the line...and collect fat salaries.

Do we need these kind of people?:p

If you re-read the article, you can see the agenda.

It increasingly looks like a decision has been made to hold the elections very soon.

This is in spite of feedback by MPs and possibly some Ministers that they are scared that they might lose.

In an act of desperation, this group turned to going to our msm to plead their case.

The recent souring of the ground and uncertianty of being re-elected has exposed the cracks within the PAP. Instead of a mighty united entity, what we are increasingly seeing are ad-hoc attempts by individuals to cling to power.

Also the poor turn out at the YOG showed that the mighty PA grassroots maybe not so mighty afterall. If they were so powerful, why weren't the empty seats filled with PA grassroots?

Today Shit Papers, mentioned that Cynthia Phua is seen walking the ground in Pasir Ris...she is from Aljunied GRC...

Grasslooters!...ha ha ha, they are there for the 'guanxi',one I know Who works for one GLC for years; will religiously queue up to go into the instana on important public holidays when it is opened; stopped all this adulation when he is now in his late 40's; the company is giving him, the 'eye' by employing more FT's...and sending invisible signals...with the Jim Reeves song " put your sweet lips, a littel closer to the phone..."he'll have TO GO":D

The dynamics in Spore is changing with so many foreigners being imported, many of the 66% will be face unemployment.

Many of the 66% are from GLCs & Civil service. When you start to take away their rice bowl they will join the 33% :)

That's why the 154th never mentioned about FTs. They only mention flooding, HDB rising costs and bus fares.

They have already curtailed news on flooding for a while. Bus fares doesn't hit too many people is is actually a small matter compared to NTUC not reducing their prices to pre-oil at US$150 per barrel and other costs.HDB rising costs they have already said it is still affordable and expect them to come up with the same story.

But with FTs and especially white collar FTs they have been quiet on this and have never mentioned about this group which is the one that has been displacing educated Singaporeans for years. This is a very large group made up of a few hundreds thousands.

The PAP and their 154th can never tell the truth because the truth hurts. The truth hurts them.

For those still thinking if they should vote for APs or PAP then the answer is obvious, you want more of the same which will actually be worse if the PAP wins the next GE or do you want something with a promise which is what the APs will provide.

Dutch forgets faster. Lose and lose finals, still can't remember.

Give them any final, they lose and forget also never mind.
