Now, we can smile into mirrors, carry butterfly nets & chase butterflies wearing swimming costume, googles & flippers along Orchard Rd.

That is all right...for the mirrors & butterflies were installed by them & the flood waters if any, sanctioned by PUB under their water management...

YOUR sinGAPORE!

Haha, copy from teekee, the bibile-logist:-:D:D:D There's a time to live, there's a time to die, there's a time to eat, there's a time to shit, there's a time to cry, there's a time to smile.. There's also a time to be sane and a time to be insane. Now is the time.:p:(

They can smile all they want, as long as they don't laugh that hideous boisterous laugh.

The Singapore Kindness Movement launches a campaign to encourage more Singaporeans to smile,

hahahahahah.. what kind of joke is that. organised a campaign to ask others to smile? So they run a country until all people have the suck face?

Everything we do has to come out from the heart genuinely and willingly. A fake or forced smile will end up like this......

having mirrors in public places would be helpful for everyone to do a quick check on themselves.

Finally, thank God! Instead of those periodic entries into the Gents just to fix my always-messed-up hair I can look around these artifacts to do it and to check on and touch my good-looking face too. And a smile (oh it'd be zestful) and even a wink afterwards as I go a-gallivanting in a merry gait.;)

Seriously, I love being born as a guy, and a good-looking one too.;):) I absolutely enjoy it.:D:p:);)

Smile, when you see the mirror

The Singapore Kindness Movement launches a campaign to encourage more Singaporeans to smile, by placing mirrors at selected bus stops along Orchard Rd and Tanjong Pagar

The Singapore Kindness Movement hopes Singaporeans can take a moment from their daily activities to smile more.

To encourage this, mirrors have been put up at selected bus stops along Orchard Road and Tanjong Pagar.

Mr Teh Thien Yew, General Manager of the Movement says the movement thought having mirrors in public places would be helpful for everyone to do a quick check on themselves.

He hopes that by putting on a smile, it will bring on a smile on another person and pass graciousness on.

The campaign is timed to support Singapore's hosting of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games.

The mirrors will take the form of a trophy with a tagline - "Let's Champion a Smile and Bring on the Cheer at Singapore 2010!"

Mr Teh adds that the movement also hopes to inculcate in the young athletes the Olympic values of Friendship, Respect and Excellence.

In line with the campaign, the movement's roving video booth also made its way around libraries and shopping malls in early June till end July.

The booth collected "smile greetings" of Singaporeans welcoming foreign athletes and delegates to the games.

Some videos have been selected and incorporated into a video commercial that's currently aired at selected public spots.

Do you still remember some years ago, there was a campaign called "The Four Million Smiles". Someone came up with a counter campaign "The 400 Frowns" and was arrested by the PAP dogs.

Singapore is probably the only nation that the government coerce people to smile. The only other nation I can think of that is doing the same is France.

Thailand, land of thousand smiles, best. No need coercion. They shoot each other, bomb and burn down buildings, and are still smiling at each other, especially clueless foreigners. :D
