This time it is the bangladeshis with work permit. Is Singapore safe anymore? Can we no longer walk on the streets without being robbed or murdered nowadays?

Couriers robbed of nearly $215k
By Alexis Cai

WEARING ski masks to hide their identities, a gang of six men - one wielding a knife - ambushed two couriers and robbed them of RM500,000 (S$214,929).

They repeatedly punched one of the victims inside the 11th-storey flat in Dorset Road before fleeing down the staircase.

The robbery happened last Thursday at about 2am. The victims, two Malaysians, had intended to spend the night at the flat before delivering the money to moneychangers later that morning.

The gang - believed to be all Bangladeshis holding jobs in Singapore under valid work permits - had gotten wind that their victims were carrying huge amounts of cash and were waiting for them.

In a statement on Thursday, police said they rounded up five suspects, aged between 27 to 32, over the last two days.

The sixth suspect is still at large.

obviously the ski masks doesn't help much but they don't really need the masks, all bangladeshis look the same to me...

This is a vicious crime and the perpetuators should certainly be brought to justice as quickly as possible.
But it doesn't trouble me as much as the slashings in Kallang.
In this case, they went after a large sum of money (high risk high return), they wore ski masks (afraid to get caught), they didn't slash first before making their demands (they punched the victims but no report of slashings).
In the Kallang robberies, the perpetuators exhibited a level of viciousness and desperation, which suggests that a more serious underlying problem exists. A high risk low return crime, whereby they didn't even bother to hide their identities and didn't even make demands before slashing.

I believe there is more than meet the eyes. Were they exploited by local employers and there is no ministries where they could turn to for help thus killing became their last bold resort. Unlike indian and china workers, sarawak workers are not that mild

Killing someone or stabbing someone is never a justification for anything, even if they were being exploited.
Just like the case of the maid who pointed a scissors at her employer's child when she was not allowed to go home. I was shocked when some people sympathised with her. I would have sympathised with her if she had run away, or even stole things. Once she threatened violence, she crossed the line.
Same for the workers, there is absolutely no justification for violence, especially killing someone.
Having said that, I did say that the employer should be called up for questioning, regarding why they hired this group of people and investigation into any exploitation.
And certainly, some civil servants and elected representatives should pay with their jobs, for the way the foreign talent policy and management of these workers has turned out.

Was it not only recently that the CCB Familee TRAITORS instructed their 154th lapdogs to debunk the 'myth' that FTrash are not responsible for the spiralling crime rate?

Don't be fooled by the Media. There is a lot of crime now. Most of it is not even reported in the media. If this Kallang Rampage was say, a Tuas Rampage, to this day, nobody will be the wiser! It was reported only because it is in City Centre, within sight of the I.R., and it is also at a major expressway junction! Sarawakians stupid! Do not know how to go to Tuas, Lim Chu Kang to do their murder and robbery! Sure get away scot free!

You rob in Tuas...you get whacked by the thousands of FT staying ther in the dormitories...

The people from Sarawak are mostly descendants from the dayaks...head hunters( not to be mistaken for HR people)..people with a natural violent streak...if one notices, most of the cleaning jobs in food centres etc..are these people...who let them in!??

Lots of crime due to the foreign trash not reported by Leeporters. Once at a train station, there was a mob of PRC workers surrounding a Sinkie. Think that Sinkie offended some asshole among them.
