Mr Fang Xing Chi, 30, said he had been resting at a void deck in Choa Chu Kang at around 2am on May 10 when he was arrested.

THE man accused of calling the police to say the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino was rigged to blow up has had the charge against him withdrawn.

Mr Fang Xing Chi, 30,
walked out of court a free man yesterday.

The prosecution gave no reason in court for dropping the case.

However, the police said last night they had charged Mr Fang in the light of the seriousness of the offence. But after further investigations, they applied for the prosecution to drop the charges as they could not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Mr Fang is aggrieved at having been made to spend a week in a Jurong police station lock-up while investigations were ongoing.

Saying he had suffered mentally and physically as a result of being wrongly accused of the prank call, he added: 'In the lock-up, they provided me super lousy food.

What's "not lousy" food? Appetiser of clam chowder soup with garlic toasted bread, followed by main course sirloin steak medium done with black pepper sauce, followed by dessert of choco fudge ice cream cake with moccha latte or japanese premium green tea leaf brew? He's lucky I'm not in the force anymore and has nothing to with him or his case. If I'm there, he'll learn the meaning of "lousy food" and remember it for his lifetime for his own good.

Isn't this guy a foreigner

If locals complain, foreigner complain, then someone obviously must have screwed up. Must give the PAP credit as they are always taking credit.

as in any chess game u must always let a pawn to die 1st mah.

Thats why I added the "lousy pay".

The food in some camps are really bad e.g. under cook rice, pitiful portions,..

It does not say he is a foreigner in the first post so I assumed he was a local. But if he is a foreigner, that makes it worse, is he expecting Prisons to serve Swensens or Pastamania?

Next, you will have people complaining that lock-ups or prisons should be fitted with air-con.

he added: 'In the lock-up, they provided me super lousy food.

poor guy must have been force fed alot of cockmeat sandwiches by cellmates and wardens.

Definitely a chow ah tiong! Singapore POLICE force at work again, simply tangkap to meet quota!
