Look at the major policies at Goh Keng Swee has implemented and then decide if this joker deserves any praise:

1) Key person to introduce NATIONAL SLAVERY. Too much unemployment problems after independence? Oh easy! Let's enslave half the population!!! Thanks to GKS he has killed and is continuing killing 2.5 years (or 2 years if you're younger) of every male Sinkaporean's life. That's 30 months or 900 days or 21,600 hours or 1,296,000 minutes or 77,760,000 seconds our every male Sinkaporean's life that is GONE and can NEVER be recovered!

2) Has frequently been heralded as the mastermind of Singapore's economic success. After all, he's a scholar, has a PhD from London School of Economics right??? PhD so what? He was still a fresh punk out of school with no working experience. The real architect of Singapore's economic success (up to 1985) is Albert Winsemius (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Winsemius). He's the brain behinds the whole operation and wrote a plan to GKS telling him what to do. GKS can only be credited for its execution. Interesting, Alfred retired from his advisory post in 1984, and GKS quitted politics shortly thereafter... is there a connection? And then after 1985, Sinkapore's road to the "Shit Age" (i.e. NOW) has begun. The golden age of the 1980s was over! Coincidence???

3) Technically, CPF was not introduced by GKS and company... but GKS and company were responsible for "improving" CPF like allowing withdrawal to fund HDB flats, causing the SKY HIGH INFLATED pigeon hole prices today. All the earlier generation today will know that the CPF system is insufficient for retirement and they will work till they DIE. Why? Cause half the money kenna sucked by housing... The younger generation won't even have a cent in their CPF because all of it will be spent on housing.

4) Industrialization plans in the 1970-1980s worked out for the short-term only. Look at happens happen now with all the industrialization? All the IT, manufacturing, etc... jobs all gone to the foreigners. Sinkaporeans can't even find jobs now!

5) In the 1980s, because Sinkaporeans have obediently saved so much, Sinkapore accumulated a fuckload of monetary reserves. GKS suggested creating GIC (and eventually Temasek) to "invest' OUR MONEY. So now OUR MONEY is being gambled away, when it would have easily funded a social security system in this country to help support senior's retirement and healthcare needs. Now today in Sinkapore, if you're old and sick... you're better of DEAD!!!

GKS may have provided some fruits in the pre-1980s era... but in the post-1980s era, all his actions have turned into POISON!!!

6) He played a key role in orchestrating the separation of Singapore from then-Malaya as we were told. Singapore did well after that, but she wouldn't have to face so many unnecessary challenges and problems if it weren't for the split. He failed to foresee what would happen 40 years down to road towards the New Economy and it is unfair to compare to Hong Kong as the people are free and could do whatever they like largely because unlike Singapore they have two elder brothers looking over them - one, Great Britain, that they were a colony of, and two, People's Republic of China when the unfair treaty between the two major powers had finally expired.

7) He introduced streaming and the emphasis of math and science over technical and the arts. You get called an "idiot" and are viewed as "hopeless" for being posted to a monolingual class and later on those who did well in the humanities and arts instead get second to last priority in studying the pure sciences when rubbish students that only did well in the two subjects but flunked the rest and are rubbish performers overall get them. And arts get a bad name because those who excelled in humanities are thrown in with those who don't - the real rubbish that don't do well in anything, not science, not humanities and there is like, according to the flawed discrimination class system, nowhere else to throw them into. How stupid! Even arts students are despised by the science students in the same branded junior college for no real apparent reason when the view should hold that for a student to score well to enter a jc it is quite an academic achievement regardless of the disciplined he or she is assigned to?

So all in all, in light of what we mentioned it's good that he got lost to China in the 80s and now that he's officially pronounced gone we are finally rid of him forever.
