Negative grocery experience as a Pakistani Tourist
Tourist/non-local QuestionI'm 21M and was doing groceries at fair price PSA with my little brother 17M. At self checkout, while were scanning and bagging the groceries, this middle aged woman (staff) comes up and repeatedly tells me what to do in a pretty condescending tone.
I didnt think much of it until she pressed the pay button for me and micromanaged everything as if I were a toddler. I told her that I wanted to go back to the items list to make sure I hadn't missed anything. She then said "Why? Do you not trust yourself?" again in a condescending tone.
Once again I ignored the remark and was paying the bill while she took a step back and was quite obviously talking bad about me and my brother with her colleague. I heard an "oh my god" as well.
I just tried to not let it affect me and walked out. Still I cant help but feel bad about the entire scenario. My experience at singapore with the locals has been great so far -- everyone's kind and sweet. This interaction left a bad taste in my mouth though.
How could I have handled the situation better? I have no idea why she only treated us like that.
